dm9831 (572), Monee, Illinois, USA Jul 13, 2008 brown color, fluffy tan head, nice lacing. the aroma is leathery air. there? a sort of coffee bitterness going on, maybe a hint of chocolate, but nothing much else. medium bodied with creamy finish. the more i drank it the better i liked it.
drewbeerme (1790), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 9, 2008 on tap at RB OP. pours reddish brown with off white head. nose is toasty and chocolate. flavor is toasty, nutty, caramelly, a touch of chocolate. watery but tasty. more of a brown ale than porter or somewhere inbetween, just not nearly chocolately enough for a porter. mixinnixon2000 (139), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 11, 2008 on tap. nice red color. lots of flavor. more than the stout for Steve. there was some coffee, nuts, and a hint of chocolate JLAudio (261), Crestwood, Illinois, USA Oct 22, 2007 On Tap. Pours a deep reddish-brown color with a nice head. Had both the sweet and roasted qualities, in the aromas and the flavors. I liked how the hints of chocolate weren’t too prevelent, and left some room in there for some nice nuttiness. The bitterness was ok, not too bitter, but decently blended. RAYBOY01 (1622), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 16, 2007 One of the better beers I sampled here...a touch more full-bodied, and possessing a more flavorfull roasted grain taste. Some chocolate, roasted grain, brown sugar, coffee, and nuts are all noticable. Very little hopping present, though. OK
