Poured a hazy mahogany under a large, foamy ecru head which falls slow and laces thick. Aroma found a boatload of caramel above a grainy base with additional mild florals and herbs. Mid-bodied with a flavor of chocolates and caramels, a touch of chalkiness and a bitterness in the finish.

On draught (quite a few months ago), at Rock Bottom, Orland Park, IL 60467

on tap at RB OP. pours amber with white head. aroma is caramelly, hint of smoke. flavor is very caramelly with a woody smokiness to it. some chocolate and spice found in there as well. a nice brew. pretty watery body though.

This was my favorite at the new Rock bottom. The body’s a reddish chestnut in color and it’s capped with a small short-lived head. It smells of old caramel, a bit of toffee, a squirt of butterscotch, and a woody like bitterness. Light roasted malt and subdued juicy fruit are blended into the flavor. The finish was rather abrupt. Overall, a decent, warming ale.
