BeerandBlues2 (2473), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jan 10, 2007 Draught at RB Colorado Springs. Pours dark brown with a fizzy and bubbly light brown head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, bread, cookie), light hops (grass), average yeast (dough, leather) with notes of cola and caramel. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness; well balanced chocolate and dark malt flavor that does not overpower. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, thin texture and a chalky finish. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jul 19, 2006 Denver - Great roasty aroma, with some nice chocolate flavors and well balancedcoffee acidity. This is a nicely balanced porter that never goes above and beyond, but does the trick in my book, creamy and esy to drink. Poured dark. Opaque. Nice velvety looking very light brown head. Almost light caramel color to it. Nice lacing on the glass. Didn’t pick up any aroma while it was cold, but as it warmed I detected a slight chocolate and malt aroma. Flavor was malty with sutle chocolate flavor with a sweet aftertaste. As it warmed more of the chocolate notes were apparent as well as a very slight roasty malt bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. Smooth mouthfeel. Ungstrup (11137), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 16, 2005 [Tap at Rock Bottom, Denver] A pitch black beer with a small collapsing light brown head. The aroma is very light, what is there is roasted. The flavor is sweet, but very thin for a Porter - it contains slight hints of chocolate - much less than expected from a chocolate beer. zach8270 (1407), Henrietta, New York, USA Jul 12, 2004 (draft @ Rock Bottom Pittsburgh - Homestead, PA) Poured a rich black color with a very thick and lasting tan head. Full and toasty roasted chocolate aroma. Good flavor of burnt malts and chocolate and a nice smooth malt finish. Good bitter coffee finish at the end as well.
