Christmas Curmudgeon is here! It’s a traditional English Christmas ale, spiced with cinnamon and a ridiculous amount of cocoa (so says our asst. Brewer Brandon McCarthy!).

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark nut brown to red color with a large sponge-like tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was on the faint side but had elements that were bitter and crisp with notes of nut and mixed fruits. The flavor was strong cocoa and strong cinnamon with moderate notes of nut, wood and vague sweetish fruit - cherry, apple and orange predominantly. The finish was long with candied nuts, cinnamon and wood. Fairly full bodied. Inventive and excellent.
