Dark brown body. Thick, slightly rocky light brown head. Aroma leads with a fair bit of roast and dark chocolate, with light woody hops underneath. I bought it because it’s made with whey...this shows mainly in a slightly creamy body. That creaminess balances off a fair roastiness. A solid outing.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 13/10/2007 Some roast aroma. Dark coloured strong in alcohol hoppy and fruity with a crisp and slightly dry roast finish.

On tap at Rock Bottom, Seattle. Black with brown edges, beige head. Has all the requisite components of choc/coffee malts, bit of sour liquorice. Has some complexity, still feels as though it is not fully brewed out.

Weird, milky taste but not sour or having a spoiled lactic quality. Semi-sweet, pale and empty flavors.. light and thin and watery and pretty much typical of the usual brewpub stout. Grainy chocolate malts with a dusty corn and flour flavor are the only redeeming qualities.

Tap@Brewpub. Chocolate aroma with a hint of coffee. Dark brown colour, off-white head, fair lace. Sweetish, hints of chocolate and coffee, light bitter. Rather plain Stout.

This was one of the weakest stouts I have ever had. Weak and watery, with a large amount of sugary sweet sucralose lactic type flavors. Roasted maltiness is way to acidic and unbalanced.

Dark brown almost black. Roasted dark malts, a touch of sweet lactic aspects in the flavors and aroma. A little bit of dry roast in the finish.

Draught sample, Seattle. Nice roasted grain aroma with some coffee and chocolate. Sweet lactic malted milk but also a little broth. Dark brown clear with little head. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Starts sweet with chocolate, almost too sweet. Molasses and some carbonic gassy tang. Light roasted grain. Finish is a mild sweet with hint of bitterness. Meh.
