Rating #1954 2015.09.26 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 3, Beer 54 Lunch at Rock Bottom - Pours a golden amber, medium white foam. Pine and grapefruit on the nose, more citrus on the palate, medium sweetness, delicate bitterness. Not as much bite as anticipated.

On tap at brewpub. A clearish milky white ale with a nice white head. Aroma is grapefruit, lemon, lime. Flavor is wheat, grapefruit. Finish is grapefruit, weak bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation.

Tap. Pours a clear dark gold body with a small wispy white head that faded to a thin ring. No lacing. Very light nose for an IPA, minimal floral hops, some pils malt, it doesn’t smell like what’s advertised. The flavor is rather light on the hops for an IPA, barely enough for an APA really. Thin caramel malt base, some bready and doughy malt on the back end. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation, low IBUs, rather short finish. Not something that lives up to being called ’Hop Bomb’, especially on the west coast.

DuffMan (9541) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 13, 2015
On tap @ the brewpub in Seattle. Copper orange body, medium white head. Aroma of pine and grapefruit hops. Same hop character on the palate, light malts in support, very quick finish that is more dry than bitter. Weird how the bitterness doesn’t carry over. Doesn’t taste bad, but lacking punch.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium white head that dissipates slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma is hoppy with some roast malt in the background. Medium-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, earthy malt and a touch of herbs. The finish is hoppy with a grapefruit aftertaste. Above average overall.

Tap @ the brewpub. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich hops, flowers, straw, citrus and malt.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, solid hoppy and citrusy. SOlid hoppy, peachy, grapefruity and citrusy. Bitter, light fruity impression but actually bone dry and bitter into the finish.

Draught at Rock Bottom, Seattle, WA, USA.
Hazy yellow golden colour with tiny to small white head. Piney harsh bitter hoppy aroma. Some crispiness and piney bitter hops in flavour. Bitter but highly drinkable. Lasting bitter aftertaste.

Decent IPA, although not sure it’s truly a ’hop bomb’. Pours honey orange with some off-white clings. Lots of citrus in the nose. Grapefruit taste with a bitter but balanced finish.
