COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A.K.A. Black IPA or India Black Ale; this dark ale is loaded with hops for ample bitterness up front followed by complex malt flavors and a bitter finish from both hops and dark roasted malt. Very flavorful indeed!

On hand at Denver Summer Brew Fest 2012. Clear deep brown with a luscious light tan head and a very intriguing nose of rye, roasted malts, bitter herbal and citrusy hops, and deep roasted caramel. Flavor is equally intriguing, with some roasty malts, light cocoa, spicy rye, floral citrusy hops, and a lasting roasty citrusy bitterness and caramel/dark roasty malts. Awesome, complex, and exceptionally balanced.

Pour on tap at the Denver Summer Brew Fest, dark brownish black pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of slight lemon, rye notes, but mainly some pine, grass, herbal notes with roast and dark chocolate coming through as well, spicy notes as well. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, coffee and roast, pretty slight rye presence but a nice pine and resinous note, finishing fairly bitter.

Tap. Pours near opaque black with a medium, frothy light tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy and herbal hops, pine notes, roast malt and raisin notes. Flavor is bitter dark malt and hops, earthy and pine hops with dark fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
