3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mug club draft. Cloudy straw color in the glass, and by that I mean real straw, niot the light yellow crayon. Stiff meringue style head. Smell is subdued, with just a bit of pale malt, fruit esters and alcohol warmth. Taste is what we’d expect of a Belgian Pale Ale. I thought there was some wheat malt in it, leading to those fruity esters with a hint of bubble gum. Saaz is such a standard hop that it’s hard to say where it stands out. there is a bit of a floral component coming in. A slightly yeasty finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at the Oak Park Micro Brew & Food Review and recently, a mug club serving at the brewpub. Displayed a hazed golden tone, with a modest amount of white head foam that diminished rather quickly to a ring & film, and left only some light, spotty lacing. The aroma was light yeast, with a hint of banana and spice. Light sweetness, and lemony tartness appeared in the flavor along with a dull, peppery bitterness, much like biting into grapefruit rind. This lingered with some dryness into the finish. The body was lighter than medium, but the carbonation was lively. Fairly refreshing.
