mgoy (266), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA May 9, 2008 On tap at Rock Bottom Yorktown. Rock Bottom Yorktown Erik the Red is a hazy, light mahogany red color with a small off-white head. The aroma is very faint and the flavor is full of bland malts and a bit of bitterness. This is very mediocre. WickerBrew (264), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 5, 2008 I was only expecting an ok beer, and thats pretty much what I got. Kind of bland but very drinkable, not even too great among ambers. Always better stuff available - I have to think this one is for the masses who go in looking for something like Sam Adams lager. kseecs16 (537), Westmont, Illinois, USA Feb 23, 2008 Clear reddish brown thin foamy off white head. Slightly malty aroma taste is a bit sticky sweer malt, some roast a little nice lingeribg bitterness. Light body.
drewbeerme (1790), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 22, 2008 on tap at RB Yorktown, pours cloudy red-brown with white head. a spicy hop nose with toffee notes. flavor notes of toasted biscuit, caramel, spicy hops. tasty. I also sampled this on cask, even though it was served at room temp, i gave it the same score. Ughsmash (2996), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2007 On tap at RB – Yorktown. Poured reddish-caramel with a short cap of looser beige head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet caramel and red wheat with nice floral and fruity hops as accent pieces.. simple and solid. This was quite tasty.. toasted, almost oaked caramel with light, complimentary pine bitterness at the edges.. warmth brought out an enjoyable medium-skinned fruity bouquet. Just shy of medium-bodied with nice balance on the palate.. a touch grainy.
