Draft on tap at the brewpub (Lombard, IL). Pours a big deep ruby copper pour, healthy glow, touch of haze, with richer glow in body and edges. Sun tea elements with a mellow tannish layer of head, laces small. Aromas are some cherry, stone fruit, carmelized malts. Bits of toffee, toast, and bready malts. Biscuits, gentle dryness, cherries and red stone fruit give some life as it warms. Initial is medium bodied, perhaps a touch lighter. Some gentle toastiness and carmelized malts. Mellow sweet biscuits, toast, and bready malts. Some cherry bits, gentle fruit into the middle. Kiss of cherries grows, toasty, carmelized and gentle toffee sweetness. Biscuits, touch of warmth. Backend offers some toast, dryness, earthy hops and a gentle touch of warmth. Well balanced with a bit of heat, dryness, and good flavors albeit lighter girth than expected. A fall firmly warming Bock, touches of darkness, red fruit and carmelization and gentle sweetness, warmth. Solid. Gentle spice on the nose.

On tap and sampler served at the brewpub showing a clear, brownish amber, with a modest, off white/light tan head that diminished quickly to a narrow ring, and just a light layer of film. The aroma was toasty, with just the slightest hint of cocoa roastiness, light grain, smooth malt, and caramel. The flavor was similar, with a light to medium body, moderate bitterness, light creaminess to the mouthfeel, and just a generally mellow but flavorful disposition.
