This American style IPA is brewed with a copious amount of hand selected hops from the Pacific Northwest, lending assertive piney, citrus and fruity flavors with a massive fresh hop aroma. Caramunich and Caramel malts are used for a subtle caramel malt backbone.

7/9/08 On draft at Yorktown, tapped just 5 days earlier . Served in a snifter as a cloudy copper color wit a creamy beige head. Fresh hops aboundeth. Oranges, tangerine, lemons, grapefruit, with a little pine and a surrounding creamy malt. Smooth body that goes down too easy. Juicy pine, grapefruit, tangerines, pear, grass, with sweet creamy caramel, and a piney floral bitter finish. So fruity and tasty. Well done beer.

On tap at RB – Yorktown. Poured translucent caramelly-golden with a well-retained cap of whitish head. The aroma was sweet and pleasant with juicy pears, pine, pineapple, and grapefruit.. deeper caramel supported it.. deeper yet were peppery spices and perfume.. enjoyed it. The flavor had juicy pear and grapefruit with spicy pine and peppery alcohol surrounding.. left a lengthy fruit and perfumey impression at the finish.. the alcohol was warm, but it mostly stayed nestled into the background. Heavier-bodied on the palate with high carbonation on the palate.. just a touch too sharp and spicy on the back.. solid overall.

Draft... DLD’08... Hazy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is constructed of nice Munich and caramel malt notes with a hefty dose of pine and citrus fruit hops. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. Fruity and caramel sweetness is diminished by grapefruit rind and pine, tannic bitterness. Finishes boozy and bitter.

Not a huge fan of the chalice that these come in, but the beer within makes up for it. Tastes good and hoppy, but it gets a little sticky. ABV is surprisingly well hidden for a brewpub double IPA.

Pour is hazed golden yellow with a thin white head...nice pine resin aroma pouring out of the glass...not overpoweringly so though...mouthfeel seems a tad bit thin...taste is a nice toasty sweetness at first, with a terrific citric bitterness showing up quickly cleaning up the sweetness...
