2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This is a beer that has little caracter. Fair color, moderate mouth feel and taste, not enough to make it a beer that you ask for again and again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
probably old as hell, got on a discount shelf. Anyway it was still fairly decent. smooth body, nice nut taste, good use of malts to give it it’s taste.

A solid brown ale. Pours brown, with decent head. Aromas and flavors of malt, almonds, and slight caramel. Finishes smooth and crisp. Very nice nut brown.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
THis beer has a very attractive deep brown color, with a nice, loose head. The smell is decent, but nothing inspiring. A lot of maltiness in the aroma. This is an excellent tasting beer, but no nut taste to speak of. It has a goo dmouthfeel and a smooth finish. It drinks very easy.

2.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dark brown in colour, almost completely opaque (about 90% probably) with a nice tan head which started out about 2 centimetres thick but is now about 2 millimetres thick and looks like it came from nitrogen. The smell is actually pretty nice: alcohol, port, cherries and roasted malt are all very prominent. The taste is very bad: sour cherries, skunky malt, and a tad of bad hops. I might have had a bad bottle here, but I got mine right next to JonR888710's (see below) so maybe something is wrong. The aftertaste is very sour and not pleasant at all. After buying a style that I usually hate just because it was new (actually its an old one: this was labeled Rock Creek still) to me, I feel pretty bad for doing it. I definately don't reccomend buying this beer if it tasted like mine...but it probably won't since it seems like i'm the only one mentiontioning these crazy characteristics. I bought this twelve ounce bottle from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia and will probably buy another to re-rate this one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brown body, ironically it’s the same color as the bottle. Head is very thin and lasts no more than 10 seconds. Smells mainly of hops, maple syrup and a little bit of sweet cream. Taste is rich in flavor. Wet grass and earthy flavored hops are up front followed by some chocolate sweetness and a little nuttiness. There’s a really nice balance here, maybe 55/45 in favor of the hops. Aftertaste is thin, leaving just a little metallic hop flavor on the palate. A very enjoyable ale that packs a lot of flavor

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Maybe a bad bottle? Appearance was a nice reddish brown, appropriate fading head. The aroma was almost negligible, very faintly of an old carpet. The initial flavor was one of decent malt nuttiness, but it rapidly became thin and a bit watery. The finish was actually a bit sour, which no one else has noted. Need to re-rate with a fresher bottle.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep red-brown body, light mocha head. Nose is mildly scotchy, a bit of chocolate. Excellent malts in the flavor, good caramel character. Finishes slightly smoky, somewhat sweet. Enjoyable.
