1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2009 Dull straw, very slight haze and no head. Horrible communistic aroma with lots of phenols, rotting grains, apple. Watery body, lots of glue. Bland...I won’t go so far as to say inoffensive. This beer has a lot of problems. Old equipment, poor QC, that sort of thing. Like I said, communistic.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from sampler set. Poured a clear copper color with an average creamy off-white head that was mostly lasting. Average hoppy citrus aroma. Medium body with a thin texture. Light bitter sweet flavor with a short finish.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Well for an unknown lager it was a bit of a surprise. Yellow pour, white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy and malty. Flavor is pretty smooth with some sweetness and light malts. Not a great beer, but very easy to drink.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
12oz bottle acquired in trade with daknole (thanks!). Poured a medium yellow/golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of graininess, and corny. Tastes of the same graininess, corny, and a little sweet. Hey, its a Pale Lager!

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bottle... Clear pale yellow lager with a small, fizzy, white head that is ... ZAP!... gone in a flash. Weak aroma when cool, but as it warms, it rears its ugly head. Smells like poultry drippings (no, not droppings) and spent, pale grains with a much lesser note of honey and a whisper of menthol. Medium-bodied with medium carbonation. Leans slightly on the bitter side of balance. Uninspired and boring. Finishes short and crisp with a moderately bitter hop pinch.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle. Sweet roasted barley aroma. Amber color with small head. Slightly sweet initially but then turns into a mess - soap and metallic flavors overwhelm the palate. Not good at all.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from a Historical Beers of America gift pack. Has some caramel and maple notes in the nose, almost like cedar scented hay, I would call it. Flavor is adjunct-ey, sweet, grainy, with a light maple sweetness. Honestly it’s not that bad, I think because it was kept out of the light. A bland lager, that’s for sure, but it’s not disgusting or anything.
