12.7 oz bottle - thx Mike! A repeat for me - more whiskey forward than the larger format as I recall. Some apple notes. Medium body & carbonation.

Bottle. Oak, apple, vanilla, spice, honey, syrup, whiskey. Light hazy Orange apple cider like pour with minimal white head. Syrup. But medium to full body. More acidity would be better

Pour is a murky but bright yellow with almost no head. Aroma is all about the barrel. A vinous aspect is there all so. Flavor is again pretty much all of the barrel. Not that there is anything wrong with that but itís just that it overpowers anything the base beer was going to offer. Finish is silky and none of the alcohol is present at all. It was well done just the wood aging overtook the whole beer. Maybe triples arenít meant to be barrel aged.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours cloudy golden with a tiny off-white head and an earthy fruit aroma. There is a slightly fruity caramel malt flavor with some vanilla and a whiskey finish. That whiskey took the sweet right out of the malt. Quite interesting.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared 12.7 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a hazed, orange color, with a modest layer of off white, bubbly head foam, and spotty lacing. The nose offered some barrel hints, light spice, esters as dried fruit, and some lurking alcohol. Medium bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste continued the esters, presented some sweetness, alcohol warmth, and modest hop bitterness. Not bad, but barreling tended to subdue a good deal of the usual Tripel expressiveness, imo.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
375 c&c from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy amber gold with no head. Aroma is whiskey/wood/fruit. Full bodied, almost. Flavor is malt, something vinous, wood, caramel. A touch of whiskey, and a hint of heat. This is very smooth, with lots of different flavors, and they all blend into a delicious ale. Excellent.
