Bottle at Jamesís 4k/5k/10k tasting. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Musky and a touch skunky, musk and a bit of warm yeast. Lingering yeast and musk on the finish.

750ml bottle corked and caged poured a light cloudy orangish yellow color with aromas of light whisky, grain, light sweet fruit and a touch of spicy yeast. Flavors follow suit light fruit and booze up front by some yeasty aftertaste. Thanks to the kind person who brought it to the tampa weekly tasting, this was a pretty good beer.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a hazy golden yellow with a large lasting white head. Aromas of whiskey, straw, pineapple, oak, light vanilla and light spice. Palae was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of straw, pear, whiskey, oak, light vanilla and light spice with a crisp lingering fruity finish.

A nicely carbonated beverage. It has a cloudy wheat like color. I picked up on sweet whiskey, wood, yeast, grains, straw, and fruits. The flavor is of medium whiskey, yeast, oak, sugar, malts, pears, bananas, clove, and wheat. The finish is of whiskey, yeast, a wheatwine, and leaves a cool dryness in my mouth. Overall this is a relaxing and a good brew. I think the whiskey is more potent in comparison to the other ingredients and it loses me there.

Lukaduke (2045) - Portland, Maine, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Bottle thanks to Jstax ! Pours a hazy orange brown color with a trace of rising bubbles. On the nose it is full of sweet fruit, honey and some whiskey barrel touches. The palate follows the nose with a nice toasted oak background. Nice balance between barrel flavors and sweet round caramel fruit. Could use a little more bubble to clean up the mouthfeel and the slightly sticky finish but overall a solid beer.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2013 Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a cloudy golden color with a large, dense off white head. The aroma has whiskey, oak, yeast, some fruit, citrus, and sweeter light malts. The flavor has oak, whiskey, probably enhances the sweeter malts and fruits, spicy, light peppery notes. Comes off a bit boozy at times. The Rockmill beers have all been solid, but are a bit pricey.

Sampled at GonzoIlliniís Birthday Party (Western Springs, IL). Happy Birthday, Tony! Pours a richer hazed golden yellow hue, touch of darkness, frothy whitish haze as a firm ring, laces well and sticks around. Aromas are sour lemons, yogurt, and straw. Bready and dough, some touches of yeasty dryness. Banana, apple, tartness. Touches of wet oak, gentle spirit. Initial is dry and a touch clove ridden up front, spice adnd coolness, gentle yeast, apple, yogurt, coolness. Mellow sweetness, spice and an herbal quality overall. Touch of menthol, coolness, mellow spirit grows, dryness comes in through the middle and backend. Touches of straw, pear, and spice. Pretty nice, a bit more vibrant up front trailing into a mellow dry and spicy backend and finish, perhaps focusing more on barrel and the spirit there. Solid.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a Rockmill chalice/red wine hybrid glasls. Pours a translucent gold with almost no head to speak of. The aroma is very lightly whisky laden with some sweet, estery undertones sneaking through. The taste is fairly sweet and a little warming on the tongue. The barrel comes through, but not overly abundant. Iím glad I finally got a chance to try this beer. Iíve been after it for awhile.

750 ml to oversized snifter, Looks good; a murky orange with thin white lacing. Smells and tastes of bourbon and tripel with a good mouthfeel. Nice.

750 ml C&C bottle served in a Portsmouth tulip. Letís hope this tick from Alex (Masterski) is better than the base. A: Pours a hazy gold peach with a thin white head forming on the pour. It leaves some soapy lace behind. S: Very fruity esters in the nose and they are very sweet as well, almost like a fruit roll-up. Sweet cherry and heavy whiskey finish out the nose. T: The whiskey is a touch harsh, but I donít mind it. Itís a little hot, but the sweet caramel flavor from the barrel and the slight yeast counter acts this a little bit. The fruit smells from the nose didnít really transition to the taste. M: Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and nice carbonation. The finish is a little hot. O: Much better than the base beer. It still needs some time to mellow, but it was pretty solid. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 05-14-2012
