750 ml bottle. Wow that cork was hard to get out. Ours a hazy yellow. Nose of spice, pepper, Belgian yeast and some malt. Taste of Belgian sugar sweetness, ester, clove, and pepper. Mid palate sweetness and a spicy finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle into chalice, bottled on 1/26/2012. Pours hazy golden amber color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big peach, lemon, pear, apricot, pineapple, orange, honey, pepper, floral, candi sugar, wheat, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of malt and fruity/spicy ester notes; with decent spicy yeast ester balance with malt/fruitiness. Taste of lemon, peach, apricot, pear, pineapple, orange, honey, candi sugar, pepper, floral, bread, and spicy yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of citrus and tropical fruits, honey, floral, candi sugar, pepper, bread, and spicy yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast esters; with a stronger balance of malt and fruitiness over spiciness; with no cloying sweetness present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Tripel style. Great complexity of fruity esters and malt flavors with moderate yeast spiciness balance; and quite smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a corked and caged 750ml bottle at the source. Pours a hazy gold with a rather large, frothy, white head of foam. The aroma is sort of grassy and floral with some sweet bready notes coming through. The taste has a smoothly blended bitter and sweet presence that finishes a little dry. Pretty nice.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
750 ml C&C bottle served in a Portsmouth tulip. Rare tripel tick courtesy of Alex (Masterski).
A: Pours a hazy chilled golden amber color with barely the slightest head. It recedes rather quickly to nothing.
S: The immediate whiff is that processed crust on the outside of a cherry poptart. Some alcohol is in there with a little cardboard as well.
T: Definitely some oxidation happening here. I wonder if the C&C was bad. Wet paper, cherry pop tart crust, and some earthy malt.
M: Almost zero carbonation. The body isnít lively and itís hard to drink a ton of this.
O: The bad C&C really made this a hard thing to drink. On tap of that the flavor profile was very disjointed and I barely got any flavors I enjoy in a typical tripel.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gold color with light head and nice lacing. Strong spices, light citric notes and subtle hoppyness. The complex flavors are more evident than in the cask aged. Pretty good overall.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 mnl corked and caged bottle.
Aroma: Dried fruit (apricots and mango) with hints of vegetable and spices (clove, ginger). This is a really complex and appealing aroma.
Appearance: Cloudy/sparkling dark gold with a rocky white head.
Taste: Light sourness and light bitterness playing off of each other with hints of sweetness at the corners.
Palate: Full body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation, long finish.
Overall: Iím not overwhelmed or blown away, but Iím certainly not disappointed. This is a very solid and well crafted beer that Iíd seek out again.

Bottle at our Cellar Dip party... Poured hazy, pale orange-ish with a big off-white head. Quite estery, and spicy. Some floral tones with malt sweetness. Belgian candied sugars, apples, other light fruits and a yeast finish.

Ok, first I want to say that it is my opinion that I should rate a beer as is with the qualifying statement of "this was a bad beer". Poured absolutely flat amber. It appears that the carbonation of the bottle conditioned never took. One sip proved to be very sweet, muddled and not good. 100% bad. And I was really looking forward to this.
