Bottle from Cotteridge wines. Before i go on i will firstly make it clear that sour ales ain’t really my bag but was interested in checking out Rocky Heads new lines. The initially thoughts were looking good as i opened the bottle and poured. A hazy golden pour with a fluffy white head. aroma of boiled fruit sweets. The taste was...well..sour i suppose. Initally fruit quickly wiped away by a BIG lemony zing, lemon sherberts as Rich said. Quite a light beer for over 6% with a faily high carb. overall its a fair beer, however as i said sour beers are not my thing but can imagine this going down well on a hot summers day.

Bottle share at Leighton’s, thanks to our host! Bottled Jan 2013 at 6.0%. Clear pale orange, a few bubbles, big foamy tan head. Aroma is lemonade, leaves, mint and pineapple chunks. Body is medium, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is lemonade, floral, minty and slightly sour. Just a soft, restrained sourness and quite fruity. Pretty good.

Bottle shared in London. Wow, I’ve had this beer for more than two years, and it is such a thrill to finally drink it. Pours clear gold with a big, big frothy white head. The nose has wood, light oxidation, marmalade. Medium sweet flavor with bitter wood, grass, husky grains. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly sticky sweet on the finish, with more bitter grass and wood, hints of oxidation, light dried caramel, more marmalade. Very interesting. Kind of like a session barley wine.

Bottle from Ales By Mail.Pours almost clear golden with a big creamy off-white head. Inviting light tarty fruit aroma, weak spices. Taste is complex, lots of bitter oranges, with a very shy tarty freshness, fruits. Not a sour in my opinion, but a very nice complex fresh tasting beers.

Bottle at home on 2nd February 2014 - Christmas gift. Pours hazy amber with yellowy-white lacing foam. Tart citrus aroma of tangerine and grapefruit, with some yeastiness. Rich hoppiness in-mouth with grapefruit, and herby grassiness. Finish remains citric, with rear upper-mouth bitterness. Zingy mouthfeel and medium body. A fine, tasty IPA.

Bottle split at Dadsgiving, sourced from the mighty LB Oddbins, 24/11/13. Hazed orange amber with a good sized off white covering. Nose is dank hops, tarte fruit, sublte sour tones, orange, straw. Taste comprises orange pith, mineral bite, light tarte edge to the fruit, apricot, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry closure with chalky mineral bite. Sour - really ? Decent enough drop, more aking to a slightly tarte APA.

Bottle courtesy of Theydon_Bois, cheers Colin. Happy dadsgiving y’all. Pours a light orange body with white lacing. Aroma is orange pulp, tart lemons and additional citrus fruits. Mouthfeel is light with notes of mango, tangerines, orange, lemon tart and an overall restrained sour character. Not so much a sour ale, but very citric and fruit-focused. Nice.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Medium hoppy bitterness, with flowery and lightly citric notes, and just a touch of fruity tartness. Not bad.
