Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma has notes of caramel, dark burnt sugars, some toast and roast, hints of dark fruit, some slight smoked malt, hints of spice and a touch of herbal notes in there. Taste is low on the spice, but a mix of dark fruit, caramel, burnt toffee, hint of toasted malt, some slight smoke, finishing with a slightly herbal and grassy finish.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2012 Tap @ brewery. Deep brown appearance with an off white head. Deep roasty wheat malty, a touch burnt, banana, clove aroma. A little thin body. Roasted, a bit burnt, wheat malty flavor with a moderate note of banana.

(draft 6/22/11). Clear dark brown color. Medium off white head. Moderate roasted malt aroma, with light phenols. Flavor of the same, with light bitterness. Avg duration. Dry finish. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Spare lacing.

Growler poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of carmel, wheat, banana and dried fuit. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, wheat, dried fruit and light banana with a smooth lingering fruity carmel finish.

Tap. Pours dark brown with a medium, frothy light tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (toast, caramel, bread), banana, anise, chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is moderate dark malt, bitterness from malt and hops, and late notes of oak and prune. Medium body and carbonation, light warmth and a dry finish.
