Imagine if you will, a world in which baked goods need no longer be eaten, but merely quaffed. Second in our Bakeshop Series, she is the middle triplet. Gorgeously intense blueberry color and flavor, coming from real blueberries; such a lovely balance with the flavor of pie crust and a hint of spice.

On tap. Pours with a mostly clear deep golden hue (maybe a bit on the purple side of things, but not insanely so). Aroma of blueberries, fresh, a bit of cream, biscuits and caramel. Flavors have a ton of blueberries, light tannin and acidity, with a big and sweet malty backbone. A bit of sugary biscuit. Light bubbles. Sweet, but not too overkill.

On tap at GABF 2011. Pours a deep copper color with a large white head. The aroma is amazing; sweet natural blueberries, spices, some pic crust. The flavor is sweet berry pie, some light cinnamon, very smooth and again very natural well made. Not much tartness. Damn good.

(draft 6/22/11). Clear purple color, with small particles suspended. Small off white head. Moderate berry aroma. Flavor of the same, with light spices, bread/crust, and tartness. Avg duration. Light dry finish. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Spare lacing.

(Draught) Pours a murky purple body with a light purplish head. Aroma of blackberries, pie crust, and sugar cookie. Flavor of blueberry muffins, pie crust, and graham crackers. Another well done fruit beer.

(Draught at GABF) cloudy blue and purple with a huge meringue like head. Nose of blue and blackberries, seeds and all, cobbler crust is in there too! Taste of blueberries, sugar, cobbler crust, sweetness is just right, but it’s a bit syrupy. An excellent dessert beer!

GABF 2010. Pours a hazy blue purple with a thinning head. Aroma is big fresh baked blueberry pie, toast, cookie crust, almonds, cake batter, intense blueberry concentrate- but seems real not fake. Flavor is more of the same- intense blueberry, fresh baked muffin and pancakes, fresh blueberry juice, overall sweet but there is a slight tartness that cuts it up a bit, has a pie quality to the flavor like graham crackers thrown in. Very cool- not so much a beer, but just a nice sweet dessert drink.

Nose is blueberry suryp, sweet and a bit sweaty. Flavor is blueberry syrup, honey, very sweet. Nice but on the edge of booberry-esque, which ends up detracting.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2010 GABF 2010, one of the big winners for me at GABF 2010. the blueberry version of New Glarus Belgian Red. Murky purple pour that was loaded up with flavor, seemed like you could see the fruit right in it almost. Hard to believe tat it was a beer. BIG BIG blueberry aroma. Flavor was blueberry loaded too. Seek this beer out. First rating of a great beer
