Oct 3, 2006 Had on draft at GABF. A special offering by Rocky River Brewing Company based on their award winning Smokestack Porter. The same, but with chipotle and 4 other chilies added for addtional flavor. I’ve tried a few chipotle-smoked porters before, but this had the best balance of chile, smoke, and porter to date.
Wonderful smoky nose with a kick. Medium bodied, roasty/smoky/chile/nutty/coffee flavors open up on the tongue. Just enough chile kick to let you know it’s there without being overwhelming. Really an excellent beer, I hope I come across this again.
