Apr 1, 2005 Like the Nickel plate porter in appearance - nearly black with some ruby edging and the requisite tan head. Roasty aromas of coffee and light chocolatge. Smooth but a little thin in the mouth - not overly roasty flavours of chocolate and coffee and maybe some vanilla. Not too rich, but nice.

Apr 23, 2004 Flat black. Nice roasty maltiness with chocolate and very balanced coffee notes. Nice hop profile throughout. Crisp finish. Very pleasant and easy drinkin'.

Mar 29, 2004 Slight roast aroma, but little aroma overall. Dark black beer with big brown head. Looks thick though is not. Tastes of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and roasted barley with a dry finish. Easy drink. Very smooth. Overall, a good, well balanced stout. No flavors are overwhelming.
