COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, as only 900 75-cl bottles were produced. Geunes serves this wilful beer as part of his other unique range of beer varieties in his restaurant, ’t Zilte, at the Antwerp MAS museum.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2012. Poured a clear pinky red with a fizzy & fading white to off-white head. Sour cherries, mixed summer fruits, modestly tart with some woodiness on the aroma. Flavours of tart cherry, raspberry, apple, wood with a medium length sharpness, light vinegar & a delicate tannin bitterness to finish. Prickly medium to full carbonation, medium-ish body with a restrained sourness throughout. Gentle with good structure. Not too complex but very likeable & drinkable.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an almost clear red with a tiny off-white head. Sweet and spicy cherry aroma - a rather sophisticated overripe cherry accent. Medium body, sweet and tart cherry accents, carbonation is quite rich, some tannins but the tartness is not overpowering. A very elegant beer. 200812
