COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, as only 900 75-cl bottles were produced. Geunes serves this wilful beer as part of his other unique range of beer varieties in his restaurant, ’t Zilte, at the Antwerp MAS museum.

Bottle from Total Wine in Boca Raton, FL. Shared with Edgar and Vanessa. Snifters. Pours a reddish color, clear, with a pinkish-white head. Head lasted a little and some lacing. Aroma is very aromatic with the raspberries and cranberries dominant. A hint of tartness with the cherries and an overall fruity goodness. The taste is just blissful. About as perfect as a sour fruit beer can get. You get all three with the raspberries, cherries and cranberries. It is tart, but not so much it seems acidic or overpowering with yeasts. It is also slightly sweet which brings forth the fruit flavors even more. Tart finish with medium carbonation. Very good.

Bottle. The look is clear, a very light pink off white head, and reddish in color. The smell is tart, cherry, raspberry, fruit roll up, and good. The taste is tart, fruits, cherry, nice, easy, so good. Easy like Sunday morning.

Pours hazy blood orange into a snifter. White head quickly recedes to nothing. Cranberry and cherry aromas. Medium bodied with sour cherry and cranberry upfront turning to oak in the dry finish.

Deep amber/red with a cream head. Nose is wood, tart, acidic, cherries, dry, cranberry, and sweet. Great palate, super tart, backed with raspberries, acidic, and a great finish.

translucent red amber with dying cream head, gone fast. Tart cherry, moderate acetic nose, bit of vinegar, light pith. With warmth it’s rubber band phenols. Flavor is more cherry, arsenic hints and NO acetic, nose deceives, lots of sugary depth with the candy, end is really sweet but balance throughout.
