COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, as only 900 75-cl bottles were produced. Geunes serves this wilful beer as part of his other unique range of beer varieties in his restaurant, ’t Zilte, at the Antwerp MAS museum.

Superbe.

Bottle @ WWT II. Pours red/pink with a very small fading white head. Aroma is sour cherries, red fruits and a lot of sour and tart notes, some oak. Taste is sour cherries, raspberries, quite sour and tart. Dry and lasting finish with a really nice astringency. Good stuff.

Bottle @ WWT II. Pours a clear pinkish coloured beer with a very small off white thin head that dissappears quickly. Aroma is flowery, bretty and fruity, with characters of cherries and raspberries. Defintely some oak in the aroma as well. Flavour is very well balanced combination between sour and tart influences of the Brett and a sweet fruity note. Very dry finish that last not as lang as I’ve hoped. Very decent brew!!

Bottle thanks to KingCecil. Pours a deep dark red with a medium off-white head. Strong berry aroma with the raspberries most prominent, followed by the cherries with the cranberries coming through as well. Some nice acidity and light funk as well. Taste is medium sweet, very fruity, and mild-medium sour. Finish is very lightly sour, very clean. Light bodied, well carbonated, super refreshing. Beautiful, wish I had more.

750 thanks to Dylan! Pours a deep ruby red color, very bright, with a medium fluffy white head. A huge nose of raspberries, sugars, tart wood. The flavor was unexpected and interesting: very quaffable brew, woody, tannins, light sourness, big sweet natural fruit, very smooth. Great brew. I could drink a ton.
