COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, as only 900 75-cl bottles were produced. Geunes serves this wilful beer as part of his other unique range of beer varieties in his restaurant, ’t Zilte, at the Antwerp MAS museum.

Delicious beer! Aroma was great. Musty and funky with cherry and cranberry smells. Pour was a cloudy murky deep dark red with a one finger off white head that left quickly. Taste was fantastic. Vinegar, sour cherry and raspberry flavors were big and up front. Strongly sour, but not mouth puckering. The cranberry was more noticeable as it warmed. Very strong and biting carbonation. Greatly complex and an awesome beer!

750ml bottle. Ruby red with a foamy pinkish head. Slight haze. Flavors are fresh berries (raspberries, cherry, cranberries), brown sugar, oak and balsamic vinegar with spicy and vinous notes. Good sourness and tartness. Medium body, soft carbonation, smooth texture. Beautiful.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2015 Pours a cloudy copper from the bottle with bubbly off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of deep fruity must, cherries, raspberries, dark fruit, then big lactic sour tannic wood. Taste is a little more tame, but nice sour cherry and raspberry over tannic wood and nice sweet maltiness. Wow, one of the best rodenbach beers I?ve had to date.

Pours an average frothy off-white head that mostly diminishes. Body is hazy red. Aroma contains mostly fruits (cherry, raspberry, cranberry), a bit of oak, some lime, flowers, leather and hay. Flavor gives a delicate mix of sweet, sour, tart and dryness that keep alternating. Body is light to medium with creamy texture and quite soft carbonation. This beer is full of fruits in the right combination. I never had anything like this before. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Drank this at New Year’s eve. Bottle shared at home. Pours gorgeous red with pink head that fades quickly. Cherries, tartiness, red berries, quite sweet, some vinegar. Nice!

Looks.. Murky dark red, sml head. Smells..all the berries of the rosso yet dulled by more oak, some booze. Tastes..cranberries and the tartness of the cherry with loads of oak, some booze soaked fruit and then healthy raspberry tart burst, lingering dry berry finish

750 mL. bb 13-05-17. Body is a misty, reddish copper and supports a thin spit of silky bubbles. Aroma is sweet and tart raspberries in cream, with dashes of vinegar and cranberry. Front flavors of raspberry and cream turn to a mild sour with some dry cranberry-apple notes in the middle. Oak comes in on the finish and lingers. Near-medium body has a high carbonation that flares up annoyingly at times. Not as sour as I was expecting, but it’s plenty for me. Nice one, but seems like the raspberry and oak dominate a bit much, and I’m usually a big fan of both.

Red brown color, opaque. Cherries in the nose and taste. Mouth puckering sourness comes on quickly. Leaves a dry Pez-like fruity flavor.

Nice intense magenta red. Beautiful intense cherry tart nose. Earthy cherry taste, smooth and round, highly carbonated. Refreshing . Love it - good choice for beer #2500
