COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, as only 900 75-cl bottles were produced. Geunes serves this wilful beer as part of his other unique range of beer varieties in his restaurant, ’t Zilte, at the Antwerp MAS museum.

Red amber color with light pink foam. Aroma of red berries. Taste of cherry, raspberry but also the slightly bitter dry towing of the cranberries. Sour vinegar-like aftertaste.

Tap. Deep reddish amber with small head. Huge tart berry, like a fruit explosion. Light oak. Really great stuff, but I’d still give the nod to vintage.

Tap at De Paas. Slight hazy red with light brown hue and creamy pink head. Looks amazing. Overripe red fruit, typical Rodenbach oxidized sherry with light glue, fresh respberries, cherry juice, some berry pits, dead leaves, hay, white grape skins. Medium sour and sweet. Medium bodied with slick feel and soft prickly champagne like carbonation. Lovely beer.

From tap at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Aroma is loads of tart cherries and berries, mild oak, sourish red fruits. Flavour is tart and mild sour with a nice little sweetness. Body is medium. Lovely sweet/sour flavour and lots of tart red fruits, great beer.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika October 2014. Red color, good foam. High aroma intensity; cherries, raspberries, some notes of stable and good fruitiness. Medium body & complexity. Good sourness, balances well. Very enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

75cl bottle shared by Arve_Christian - thanks a lot! Pours hazy caramel brown, some reddish notes and a fairly small, off-white head. Delicious aroma of sour berries with some wooden and slightly earthy notes, hints of dried fruits and malt. Sour, fruity and complex with lovely flavour of raspberries and cherries and a nicely sour finish. Delicious stuff!

Sour red cherry, musty yeast, and straw aroma. Cloudy ruby red with minimal head. Sweet-tart cherry, malt, yeast , and mildly bitter straw flavor. Nice body. Pretty sweet for the style.

Tap at Cafe de Koffer. Clear red copper with thin offwhite head. Cherries, cherry stones, strawberry, woodglue, cinnamon, cork. Very sweet base with vinegar sour softly leaning in, quite a sour sting eventually. Medium body, low to no carbonation. Lactic response. Quite dry, with a cinnamon soft finish.
