UPDATED: SEP 15, 2014 On tap at House Beer. Red brown pour. Aroma of light vinegar and berry. Tastes are sour, berry, grape, vinegar. Moderately tart. Just had a La Folie, so this was more subdued sourness. Good overall, though not crazy complex.

On tap at t Antwaerps Bierhuyske, pours a dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma smells sweet and sour, with vinegar, wood, and candied sugar. Flavour is more sour than sweet, with a high vinegary quality, medium oakiness, and light sweetness on the finish. The vinegariness is perhaps the highest of any Rodenbach beer Ive had. Good stuff.

Full tap@ZBF 2014-ZA. Very much a richer-textured standard Rodenbach with all balsamic, vinegar, macerated cherry and speculatius notes in place, adding a fuller mouthfeel and a distinct oak wood astringency. Some tired caramel notes, metallic edge. Appreciate Rodenbach in context and in the kitchen, but even a 15cl pour of it at festivals can make for a more strenuous sipper than most competitors.

On tap @ Zythos Beer Festival. Slightly hazy amber with small beige head and little lacing. Aroma is of light vinegar, caramel, oxidation notes, red fruits (mostly cherries) and oak/wood. Taste is of ketchup, caramel, oak, red fruits, caramel and a dusty finisih. Medium body. Very low carbonation. Woodsy. Decent.

On tap at Zythos. Murky brown pour with thin white head. Aroma is acetic, oaky, light winey notes, mild cherry, very light. Taste is sour, light acetic flavors, quite woody, dusty and mushroom taste. Palate is light-med bodied with very low carbonation, almost flat. Good, but nothing outstanding.

Tap at t Antwaerps Bierhuyske. Basically classic Rodenbach and more so, fresher (although that may be tap vs bottle), slightly more of a woody vinous sourness. Beautiful.

@ Antwaerps Bierhuyske. Amber red brown colour, creamy beige foam. Very complex aroma of red fruit, balsamic vinegar. Very well balanced. Very drinkable. --> Very good!

tap at rrbf. This was nice. Definitely the most sour Rodenbach I have ever had. Much more of a true flemish red (in my opinion) than either the OG or GC. Nice cherry sourness melds well with the woody oakiness. Fun to try this rare gem.
