On tap at Malt House. Really brings me back to the old Rodenbach days, which for me, was around 2000. Unfiltered orange-brown-red. Thin, steady, creamy, white head. Tart and biting, nice oaky cherry tones. While it is sour, it is pretty easy to drink. Medium bodied. Slight mineral vinegar tones. Pretty excellent. Quite lacto forward, starter-like.

Medium sweet, medium sour dry refreshing. Average body, thin texture, flat, woody dry refreshing, light acid. Overall, ok sour brown ; gross woody character ; nice soursweet story ; like a sour flemish woody monster not yet fully brought out of the ground.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Bru Craft during a sour event. Translucent dark orange amber pour with just a slim ring of bubbles. Harsher, fuller and more sour than the standard Rodenbach. Sweet browned fruits. Blood oranges. Pomegranate. Apricot pits. Sour cherries. Apple cores. Pungent balsamic sour. Tons of wood tannins to dry things out. Not as refined as the original but nicely adventurous.

On tap. This is a very pleasant yet primitive beer, kind of what got me into the hobby. I’m too lazy to write much more.

Pour on tap at Crunchy’s, hazy dark red-brown pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of nice oak, tart lemon, touch of slight vinegar into a bit of red wine, slight earthy spice, hints of dark fruit. Taste was a mix of lemon, oak, dark fruit, some red wine, tart notes, hints of tannic notes, finishing with s light acetic burn but not bad, slight oaky and funky. Tasty!
