On tap at Dutch’s. Half hazy red orange color. Ring of white head, some loose bits of lace. Just a mild touch of vinegar in the nose, very nice cherry and oak in the flavor, mildly toasty. Nice bit of cheese/yogurt in the finish. Moderate to bigger sour taste, lighter to moderate sweet. Medium-plus body, kind of slick texture. Light carbonation. Very tasty, complex, satisfying, balanced.

Draft to snifter. Looks solid; a cloudy caramelish orange with eggshell head that dissipates into lacing pretty quickly. Smells solid too; tart and funky with notes of oak, dark fruit, and apple cider vinegar. Tastes Like it smells with a pleasant medium-bodied mouthfeel. A discernible Rodenbach sour cherry presence on the tongue as well. Enjoyable.

3oz pour at Max’s Belgian Fest 2016 pours a clear orange with some white head. Nose is acetic, some vinegar, wet wood, blood orange. Flavor has fig and booze, wood, red wine vinegar, apple core. Tart finish.

On tap at Malt House. Really brings me back to the old Rodenbach days, which for me, was around 2000. Unfiltered orange-brown-red. Thin, steady, creamy, white head. Tart and biting, nice oaky cherry tones. While it is sour, it is pretty easy to drink. Medium bodied. Slight mineral vinegar tones. Pretty excellent. Quite lacto forward, starter-like.

On tap, 20cL. @Bruges Beer Museum. A golden sparkling brown-orange opaque beer ; big white head with a good retention. Caramel burnt, roast, acid, wood (+), cork, roast. Medium sweet, medium sour dry refreshing. Average body, thin texture, flat, woody dry refreshing, light acid. Overall, ok sour brown ; gross woody character ; nice soursweet story ; like a sour flemish woody monster not yet fully brought out of the ground.

Growler, brownish amber, no head, . Aroma cider vineagar. Taste is vineagar, oak. Palate is light, carbonation very subdued. This is quite sour. Nearly straight vineagar.

Draft at Bru Craft during a sour event. Translucent dark orange amber pour with just a slim ring of bubbles. Harsher, fuller and more sour than the standard Rodenbach. Sweet browned fruits. Blood oranges. Pomegranate. Apricot pits. Sour cherries. Apple cores. Pungent balsamic sour. Tons of wood tannins to dry things out. Not as refined as the original but nicely adventurous.

On tap at the Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Golden brown and slightly cloudy with a bubbly cream head. Sweet balsamic on the nose. Quite sharp with a lovely wheaty aftertaste coming through.

On tap. This is a very pleasant yet primitive beer, kind of what got me into the hobby. I’m too lazy to write much more.
