jvmiller (471), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Jul 4, 2009 Dark red brown. smells a bit nutty and sour. Lemony sour flavor, deep burnt flavors in there, bitey on the way down. Drinkable and enjoyable. tokyogoat (258), San Diego, California, USA Jul 2, 2009 Updated: Jul 3, 2009Nose strong on vinegar, slight sour notes.
Pours a murky light brown with a 1/4 inch tan head. head settles in nice halo.
Really strong vinegar taste, sourness is not there, heavily acidic, fruity flavors taste slightly spoiled. Almost like a red wine heat in the throat. It’s cheap for a reason. jrallen34 (67), Illinois, USA Jul 2, 2009 This is the best flemsih red going.
It smells vinegary but sweet. It has a brillant red color with a white head.
If you want something sour with bite this is your beer. Great every once in awhile.
If only we can get the US again, let me konw if you find it anywhere. BuckeyeBoy (1451), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 30, 2009 Bottle Pours out a brown with some red highs topped with a small white head. Aroma was tons of vinegar and some sweetness. Tast was more of the vinegar and cherries. A little grape and some wood. Not bad. Thanks Toby zizzybalubba (125), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA Jun 26, 2009 750 mL bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop (purchased November 2007 and best by July 2009). Brownish-red pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of sourness and oak. Wonderfully sour flavor blended with earth, wood, and apple cider vinegar. Absolutely spectacular. Palate is a bit thin but really just as I would expect from a sour ale. This is a remarkable beer. Beardface (772), Eugene, Oregon, USA Jun 22, 2009 750 ml bottle from Market of Choice. Poured out dark brown that turns red when hit by direct sunlight, nice lacing, quick evaporating head. Aroma is extremely vinous, nice bit of cherry as well and perhaps some wood. Flavor was a lot sweeter than I expected, with just the right hint of sour as well. Nice mixture of grape and cherry flavors with some light woodiness. Very tasty beer. Rustyham (335), miami, Florida, USA Jun 22, 2009 Sour Apples, vinegar, red wine, red rice yeast, Extremely refreshing, I wish I had the whole bottle to myself, but I did nurse my two ounces for about 45 minutes. Sweet, sour, lactic, everything is in here. The body is not as thick as the Duchese de Borgnogne, tho. alobar (857), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 19, 2009 Well, this is just sweet! Pours dark brown with a sour aroma of cherries, wood, vinegar. Flavor is tart, sour, cherry with some oak hints. Just a great beer!
