| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 15, 2009 750ml bottle $8 courtesy of Beverage World in Ft. Oglethorp, GA. Nice dark ruby red color. This smells awesome, glue, vinegar, sour, lemons. The flavor seems to lean more towards eating glue and sucking on a lemon at the same time but is definitely a little more sour than the regular Rodenbach. For only $8 this was an outstanding value.

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 11, 2009 100th February rating. Dark brown with light red hints, very much a mahogany wood appearance. Lots of carbonation but a soft thin off white cove for a head. Aroma is cherries, oak, light vinegar acidity. Taste is a huge fruity bouquet, cherries, raspberries, plums, green apples, nice lifting sourness, and a woody oak finish. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Bottle. Body-dark reddish iced tea with a foamy thick ring of bubbles. Looks very much like la Folie, which is o say it is gorgeous. Nose-very sour, cherry mash, light turpentine (in a good way), cherry ice cream, some Chardonnay. Just an excellent nose. Taste-metal, aluminum foil, oak, medium sour, medium acid, malt vinegar, chocolate covered cherries, watered down Dr. Pepper. The only aspect of this beer that is unpleasant is the metal taste. If the metal taste were gone, this may very well be a 4.8 or 4.9. nickd717 (1330), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 5, 2009 On tap at Toronado - this stuff is great. Reddish brown color with high carbonation. Sour cherries and raspberries on the aroma. Taste is oak and sour cherry, some funk. Really sour. Lively palate. I hear they didn’t actually use fruit to brew this, which is almost impossible to believe. I drank this way too fast. ryanknock (150), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jan 26, 2009 Updated: Feb 17, 2009Intensely sour ale with a mild malty background. Nose of dark cherries, berries, plums, currants, wood, and earth. Mouthfeel is very puckering and acidic, rather thin. Additional notes of caramel, oak, plums, chocolate. Has a slight vinous quality, and the tartness lasts past the finish. More puckering and refreshing than the Alexander. Beer2000 (1780), Kristiansand, Norway
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 25, 2009 330 ml bottle. Clear, dark red body with a small, diminishing brown head. Aroma is acid, fruit and wood. Flavor is complex, sour fruit, acid, wood, ripe berries and cellar notes. This beer has much in common with a geuze, but it is also something completely different. I’m never able to describe the flavor properly, I just love this stuff. It’s a nice refreshing beer and goes also well together with fish soup. One of my all time favorites. kempicus (350), Wellington, New Zealand
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 24, 2009 I have a few bottles of this that i’ve been aging just as an experiment, this one had an expiry of 16/5/05. For a beer almost 4 years past it’s expiry date this beer has done really well! Woody black doris plum nose, it looks great in the glass! This beer is so amazingly smooth, it’s surprisingly sweet to start and then finishes with that lovely iron tart finish but has evened out really well.
