I’ve had this many times over the years but this was the first occasion since joining RB. It is still amazing by any standards. The most perfect balance between sweet amd sour that that I’ve ever tasted in any drink or food, wouterpulinx (27), Belgium Oct 10, 2009 Pours dark red, almost brown. Small white head. Nose is vinegar. Oak, sour, malty taste with spicy hints. Very nice one! sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Oct 6, 2009 Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, oak, vinegar, cherry. Flavour is caramel, cherry, vinegar. vtafro (452), , New Jersey, USA Oct 4, 2009 Draft at Mugs. Brown pour with some white head. Well I have now had the brown sour, still not a fan. I guess the balsamic flavor just puts me off enough. Vinegar cherry slight alcohol, some oak. Definitely has nice sour notes. RHeastings (377), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 4, 2009 Thoroughly enjoyed from a 750ml bottle in a tulip glass. The beer pours a very deep ruby that borders on being brown in color. The head is off-white, and is medium in size; surprising for a beer aged as long as this one. The aroma brings a tremendous complexity, showing at first some winey characters, slight vinegar, berries, and a bit of malt. As the sample warms, some brettanomyces character also becomes noticeable. The palate shows a medium amount of carbonation and begins fruity, showing the aforementioned mid-summer berries. The fruit lessons and moves into a malt character that combines with the brett mid-palate. As I move further down this odessey of greatness, I get a wonderful vinegar/wine character that leads my palate, as if it was on a leash, to a very dry finish. Nearly flawless. Jonte (801), Gothenburg, Sweden Oct 3, 2009 Bottle. Tre Små Rum. Gothenburg. Cloudy reddish brown colour. Tartness, vinegar, cherries in booze, ketchup, caramel, fruitiness, wood. l1br4r14n (274), Washington, Washington DC, USA Sep 28, 2009 Pours dark brown with a reddish tint and a small tan head. The aroma of tart apples, oak and malt hit my nose immediately. Flavor is more of the same, only more intense. Also a bit spicy, some red wine vinegar and a solid dose of wood. Quite smooth.
