aconley (9), Numazu, Japan does not count Jun 11, 2008 This is a very palate cleansing beer. It is very carbonated and leaves a very sour taste in your mouth. A little too sour for me but over all a great beer. madquacker (707), Canberra ACT, Australia Jun 8, 2008 I’m sorry but I just don’t get this type of beer. Reddish with a small head. Vegemite smell and a very sour and tart taste. Grows on you slightly. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Jun 8, 2008 Dark red coloured, tan head. Aroma is of sour cherry and wood. Flavour has sour fruits and wood. Complex beer. WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jun 6, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours a clear ruby red with a firm brownish head. Aroma is sweet and fruity, dominated by cherry with added bits of sour dark fruit, wood, and perhaps a bit of spice. Taste is relatively full and very tart, with a strong and sour flavor of cherries and wood. Very strong but not unpleasant by any means; just think of a strong IPA, only fruity instead of hoppy. Elizavyeta (110), Minnesota, USA Jun 6, 2008 Dark and cola-like in appearance with a thick, fluffy head. Aroma is tangy and complex with strong hints of dark cherry, chocolate, and raspberry.
Malt, citric acid, and just a bit of tobacco predominate in this exceedingly New Glarus fruit beer-esque brew. The finish is long and quite pleasant.
Would be a great accompaniment to a milder washed rind cheese like Pere Joseph or Pont l’Eveque. josarah (106), Hinesburg, Vermont, USA Jun 5, 2008 Draft at Flatbread, Awesome slight sour cherry aroma with a flavor to match. This is a well balanced sour ale. dalepryor (172), Paducah, Kentucky, USA Jun 3, 2008 pours a dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. smells of wood and cherries. The flavor is extremely sour and tart, hits you with a slight burn, i can’t really explain it, it’s kind of wild! Highly recommend! UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA Jun 2, 2008 On tap at Beachwood (a while ago) and also in a bottle found at a BevMo. Deliciously acute sour flavour. Interestingly fruity without really having a specific fruit flavour present. Complex and really indescribable.
