A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

Bottle.

Red/brown clear body, thin head. Aroma of vinegar and some sweet grapes. The taste reminds of wine that has turned to vinegar. Bites the tongue stiffens the mouth. Light sour aftertaste.

Mooie heldere donkerbruine kleur met een stevige beige schuimkraag. Ruikt zurig. Smaakt heerlijk, lekker zuur, beetje zoet. Topper.

330 ml bottle from BeerNavigator.com. Dark red to brown color, with a thin beige head. Aromas of vinegar, sour at first with some cherries maybe. Taste was phenomenal! Sour at first, vinegar, cherries, maybe some wood, and sweet after a while. Sweet aftertaste, long lasting. Medium bodied with low carbonation.

Complex aroma of tart cherry, wine, sour apples, wild yeast, some oak. Flavour has a little sweetness, quite sour, vinegar. Very well-balanced. I liked this one much better than the ’regular’ Rodenbach. Very, very good.

Flaska hemma - fin lite offwhite skumkrona. Doftade inte särskilt mycket och den var fruktansvärt sur. Om den inte varit så sur så hade det varit en riktigt bra öl. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2014 Bottle, 33cL. Home. A dark mahogany beer with orange hues. Medium thin white head. Poor persistence. Aroma of vinegar, wood and grape. Heavy sour and sweet waves mixed up. Medium body, thin texture, soft carbonation, sour finish with a sweet note. Overall, a great beer with an awesome aroma and taste. Fruity aroma is more characterized there than in Rodenbach.

0,3 lt bottle purchased somewhere in Rome. Pours a reddish brown, filtered appearance, gassy beige head which immediately goes away. Nose of vinegar, red fruits, grape must. Very balanced in the mouth: vinegar notes, sourness, berries, champagne. A unique kind of beer, I had never drunk anything similar to this. Thumb up! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BOTTLE 33CL from dcmchew. Thanks, Cristian Mihai. Look: clear ruby-brown, small beige sparkling head with almost no retention. Aroma: funky/barnyardy, vinegar/fermented fruit, rubber glue, leather, acetone, some cherry among all of this? perhaps some yeast at the bottom of the bottle. Taste: quite acid and vinegary, a good deal of sweetness with ester overtones too, glue/acetone, brett.

Pours a cloudy amber with a white head. Malty notes are all around this beer. Like it's counterpart this beer starts sour with a earthy oak flavor then finishes sour. Big difference is it's level of smoothness on the pallets.
