Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

Poured a medium brown with reddish hues. Aroma was of sourness, cherries, fruity and a little yeast. Flavor was a little tart and sour. Not much acidity or excessive sweetness which was good. Pretty good sour that i enjoyed a lot.

Rated 1.10.08 Rootbeer colored pour slightly red with a fine beige head. Faint aroma, dusty, vegatables. . Very nice sweet and sour flavors, very true. Acidic and sour, slightly dry, not as annoyingly sweet as others. Nice palate, crisp but doesnt interfere with the flavors. Excellent. 6 4 9 5 18 . . . . . . . . . ReRate 1.1.09. Pours a reddish tinted dark glowing brown with a pinkish beige creamy froth. Aroma is slightly stingy in the nostrils, varnish, slightly woody, light tart cherries, not as strong as some sours. Delicious first taste, really attacks the palate, very acidic tart cherry and really sour, candy like but still a bit dry, medium amount of vinegar. Really sharp fine carbonation that tickles going down, light bodied and lightly sticky. I really loved this beer at first, but trying it now after having tried sooo many other fine sours, it might be a little too ruthless, I really don’t remember it being this over-the-top. 4 7 8 4 17

Just introduced to San Diego, I tasted the first bottle in PP bottle shop during Logan’s tasting. I think Brad bought the bottle. Nice sour woody flavor. Smooth slick lactic acid mouthfeel. Sweet. Will age well. Red amber color. Great to have around for dinner. I love sweet and sour beers.

Bottle. Pours a pretty clear amber brown with very little head. Wonderful sour aroma, with some vinegar in there. Flavor is more of the same- sour, vinegar, and oaky. One of my favorite sour ales. I will definitely enjoy plenty of it in the future.

bottle. pours a clear reddish brown with a thick off-white head that starts to fade quickly but slows down and fluffs up, leaving a good amount of lacing as it hangs around. fantastic smell of sour grapes, balsamic vinegar, some sour cherries, and some wood. strong oaky flavor with sour cherries dominating a solid fruity ester profile, maybe a bit of lemon and sour apple as well. the finish is unlike anything i’ve had: intense, biting sour (in a good way), with a touch of sweetness backing it up, leaving a sort of grape preserves flavor lingering in your puckering mouth. lots of carbonation, and a medium body, with a mouthfeel that disappears quickly as the acidic sourness thickens in your mouth what would be a coating, astringent beer and turns it into something else entirely. i’ve never had anything this sour that wasn’t a candy. a damned interesting beer that i have to be in the mood for, but when i am, it has no replacement.

The aroma is great. Very much like a fine wine. Flavor is sour at first then fruity and slightly sweet. Crisp and clean finish. Very good.

On tap at Buster’s in Minneapolis. Served in snifter. Beautiful deep brown body with reddish hue. Strong sour, almost vinegar aroma with hint of fruit. Taste is also sour with oak and berry flavors presented near the back of the palate. Tart and light fruity acid finish. The more subtle oak and berry flavors become more prominent as the beer warms.

bottle from mj. thanks man. this was one of those that i really wanted to say more about, maybe go off on a rambling tangent, but in the end i didn’t here is what i put down in my notes. reddish brown, grey head, sour dusty nose with a bit of fruitiness. enjoyable sour flavor. blueberry, strawberry?? finishes incredibly dry. really hard to describe except to say, i like it. 4 6 8 5 16
