A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

Bottle. Clear ruby-brown colour. Aroma cherry, woody, almonds, light basementy. Taste is very nicely balanced, only subtle sourness, lots of sherry cherry woody notes but wonderfully mellow, easily drinkable. Excellent.

Tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a dark, deep, reddish brown with a small, off white head. Sweet, tart, cherry, oaky, balsamic glace, bbq-sauce without smoke. Avg carb, sticky body. A classic.

Color is dark amber with beige head.Aroma is like a lighter version of balsamic vinegar, fruity and tart. Taste starts with some fruit sweetness, like a sour cherry and gets tart and acidic to the finish. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is also not too high. Definitely on the sour and acidic side but not difficult to drink.

8%ABV. Saison. Nose is predictably sour with a subtle acetic aroma. But what I keep getting reminded of is green plums. Just under what you’d call ripe. There is some sour tang with a just-so lightly tart finish. Just exquisite. Aggressively carbonated. Very light on the palate. You are completely unaware that this is 8% ABV. A light clean wheat-like finish with a very nice barley flavor As beautiful a sour beer as there was one. A very clean finish. no hop character. Goes on Favorites List.

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is clear red/brown with a small and unstable cream colored head, carbonation is average. The aroma is fruity tones of berries and cherries, some bitterness of malts and some oak in the background. The taste is light sour, with a medium to full body. Tones of cherries and dark fruits, oak and a light fruitiness. The finish is intense, with light tones of hops, malts and cherries are long noticable.

On tap at Fermentøren Copenhagen. Dark red with a barely off-white head. The taste is brett yeasty, fruity, cherry, and a very light trace of oak. The taste is deep sour, with a controlled sweetness. Smooth aged palate, simply fantastic!

The canonical Flemish Red/Brown ale. Hands down one of the most solid in the "sour" category. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
