Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

Poured dark brown with white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of sour fruit. Strong sour flavor with a rather crisp finish.

Bottle thanks to angeloregon: Pours deep red with very minimal head. Aroma of malt and wine and vinegar, some sharp grape/apple aroma. Flavor is malty but light on the palate, slight alcohol warmth and quite sour and strong. Fruity and acidic. As it warms it starts to taste very red wine vinegary which is definite big downside to me. Dont know if it is always like that or if it starting to go bad. Perhaps oxidized.

Rodenbach Grand Cru 7 3 9 3 5 27 6/30/07 From the bottle. Aroma is tart, sour, fruity, with lots of complex esters, but a bit of clashing. Appearance is a dark brown with an off-white head. Flavor is extremely sour, vinegary-apple cider flavored with some cherry notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied, actually a bit watery. Overall, the sourness is just not balanced; hopefully will try again soon to see if I can find a better balanced/aged bottle.

From 750 ml bottle. Deep bright amber beer with gripping off-white head. Sour apples aroma with a bright carbonation and harsh booze evident. Teetering on the vinegar side with gnarly peachy sour fruit notes. clearly alcohol potency. Not as good as I hoped it would be. But ok.

The 750 ml bottle poured a clear, deep ruby red colored beverage with a small off-white smooth head that was mostly diminishing and left some lacing on the glass. The aroma was, for lack of a better word, sour. There was also a medicinal tinge and a hint of sweet fruitiness. The body was medium-light with lively carbonation and a sharp, watery texture. The flavor starts out lightly sour and stayed that way through the medium-long finish and there is a light alcohol warmth at the end too.

wellllll, i didn’t hate it. definitely not my favorite style. this had a pretty big vinegar/ketchup flavor. cherry sourness. way more intense than the NG enigma.

Slightly murky brown color. Very sweet/sour smell. The flavor has a quick flash of dark sweet fruit, but then it goes sour. Really, really sour and funky. Damn. I think sour beers are the best thing in the damn world.

750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of berries, apple, grape, oak and a hint of vinegar. Palate was light bodied crisp and tart. Flavors of fruittiness, oak, light straw and a faint hint of spice with a crisp lingering tart finish.
