BeerBelcher (930), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 24, 2007 I thought this was a very nice sour beer with a very cherry/fruity sourness nicely complemented by a pleasing amount of roastiness. It was a bit like a chocolate covered cherry, but a good bit more sour! Quite nice. natedoggkc (164), Lenexa, Kansas, USA Jul 22, 2007 Purchased at Gomers of Kansas. Poured a real deep dark red with an off white head. Aroma was real fruity with lots of cherries and some apple. This is the first sour that I have had and holy cow was it sour. Reminded me of a cider in a way but with a lot more complexity. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jul 19, 2007 Updated: Aug 20, 2007Had a 98 for this rating. Much much more mellow than the new and better. A lighter aroma, but not quite so astringent. Wonderful.
New version 4.4. A lovely sour fruit aroma. An incredibly sour intense flavor. Very acidic with fruit and spices. Just a bit too much at time. Excellent bite.
Beltramelli (471), Campinas, Brazil Jul 19, 2007 t´Brugs Beertje, Brugge. Seems red champagne! Notes of malt and nuts. High carbonation, but in the point.............................t´Brugs Beertje, Brugge. Parece champagne tinto! Mesmo assim, notas de malte e nozes. Carbonatação alta, mas no ponto. crazyvin (1245), New York, USA Jul 18, 2007 Good, but a little to sour at times. It poured a nice mahogany color with a pale tan head which had some retention. Aroma was mainly lemony, but there were subtle notes of tart cherries and oak notes. Flavor was similar but the lemon notes seemed to kill the oak notes at times. Interesting, good, but not great. thenick (742), North Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 18, 2007 Sampled in Belgium....not a bad beer overall, but I found this very astringent and way too over-the-top acidic for my tastes. Stick with the classic Rodenbach or something similar. Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2007 I am shocked to read how highly RateBeerians have rated this beer. I must go against the crowd. To me it tasted more like vinegar than beer. It was very cidery and difficult to finish. Floback (333), Naples, Florida, USA Jul 14, 2007 Enjoyed frequently. Pours amber with mild lacing and small head. Cloying aromas of wood, vinegar, very mild citrus toward the back. Sour tartness spikes the tongue with a balanced body and cloying palate. Enter flavors of cork, sour apple-ish cherry, and fizzy champagne. Better than the orig
