3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ Pint Defiance. Clear, reddish-brown pour with a short white head leaving spotty lace. Nose has all the notes I love in a wild ale: tart fruits, grapes and some cured meat. Medium body with light, fine carbonation. Grapes, lemon, cherry and some wood. Finish is more balanced, with some umami flavors creeping in and Brett showing up as butterscotch. I now see where LaFolie was influenced by a Rodenbach brewer (they blend their sours in a similar fashion). Not as good as a full-on Oude Bruin, but still very sippable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at wild beer fest. One of those things you always see at the store but never grab. Decent drink. A little on the sweet side. Some tartness lots of fruit. Oak and a bit of vanilla to smooth things out a bit. A little funkiness on the nose.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is acidic, sour cherry notes, some sweetness, Bit hazy, ruby red, foam quickly dissolves. Medium sour in taste, based on aroma Iíve expected itíll be at least bit sweet, but thereís none :) Medium/light bodied, thin, average carbonation. Pleasant finish, initially delicate bitterness turning into lasting sourness.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I usually donít like sour ales but this one I do. The color is mahogany and the head is beige and fine. Smell... What can I say, sour. But the taste is less sour, surprisingly. Body is full. The best sour ale Iíve tasted so far.

Read no reviews prior, was not expecting a sour but am so happy thatís what it is! Aroma of vinegar and fruits. No lacing. Flavour of yeasts, vinegar, sour cherries, lemon, lemon tarts, etc. Really good.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Mahogany color; minimal head.
Very intense sour aromas: cider, yogurt, sour cherry. Along with many other things, such as chocolate pie or mushrooms.
Dry, very sour, without a trace of bitterness. Light body, short-lived finish.
Difficult but very interesting.
