Bottle: Filtered.
A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

Rated 3/20/13. 750ml bottle into a Duvel tulip. A: Pours a murky brown color. The head is a one finger light mocha shade that features a beautiful creaminess to it. Lacing is great for the style. S: A lot going on in this one, and a lot going on that I love, as well. Huge sourness (mainly lactic) is augmented brilliantly by tart cherries. Underneath that are layers of oak and cream. It’s complex enough, and immensely enjoyable. T: The first note on the palate is a wave of pleasant, well-restrained sourness. Then, fantastic cherry notes overtake the midtaste before a finish that strikes a balance between cream-like sweetness and oaky dryness. It’s not the sourness or the fruitiness that lures me into this one; it’s the sophisticated cohesion between all the different elements which does so. M: Crisp and light, not to mention refreshing. Mellow dryness and carbonation help it go down with incredible ease. O: Wow, this kicks ass. On the right kind of day (let’s say perfectly sunny, 80F, sitting on a patio) I’d have no trouble crushing multiple 750ml bottles of this left and right. Beautiful stuff, this one.

Cherries and dark fruit. Very sweet aroma. Dark reddish brown. Thin light tan head that recedes quickly leaving a slight residue on the glass. Crisp and dry like a red wine. Tart cherries. Dark fruit. Very nice.

Pours a clear iced tea brown with a thin white ring. Slightly tart, sour aroma. Very smooth with a tart cherry flavor. Very enjoyable. One of the better beers I tried at the fest.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2016 33cl bottle. Pours hazy reddish brown with a thin light beige head. Aroma is cherries, plums, berries, vinegar, some yeast, some winey note. Taste is similar with excellent fruity flavors, some sweetness, a green apples hint, some vinegar but the acidity is perfectly balanced. Light yeasty spiciness, some earthy cellar notes. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. Excellent.

Head can be a bit frothy on draft, from bottles it dissipates quickly like coca-cola. Aroma is dark cherries, oak and balsamic vinegar, taste follows aroma plus light vanilla notes. Sour, tart, sweet w/ the magic Rodenbach spice. Strong vinegary aftertaste that sits high in the palate. This is the gold standard on which other Flanders red/browns are measured.

Mais parecida com uma lambic....frutada e frizante....lembrando os populares chops de vinho.....mas agradável e refrescante.....

It pours a reddish brown with a tan head. The head retention is rather decent. The head is frothy. It has aromas of cherries, plums and moderate sourness. It has tastes that is intensely fruity and sour with cherry, and plums. There is some spiciness to it. It has a medium feel with medium carbonation. Overall this is a highly fruity, sour beer.

Just delicious. We’ll balanced with a delicate sour edge and crazy texture. The red fruit quality is so distinctive and addicting. A favorite for sure.
