COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

Rated 3/20/13. 750ml bottle into a Duvel tulip. A: Pours a murky brown color. The head is a one finger light mocha shade that features a beautiful creaminess to it. Lacing is great for the style. S: A lot going on in this one, and a lot going on that I love, as well. Huge sourness (mainly lactic) is augmented brilliantly by tart cherries. Underneath that are layers of oak and cream. Itís complex enough, and immensely enjoyable. T: The first note on the palate is a wave of pleasant, well-restrained sourness. Then, fantastic cherry notes overtake the midtaste before a finish that strikes a balance between cream-like sweetness and oaky dryness. Itís not the sourness or the fruitiness that lures me into this one; itís the sophisticated cohesion between all the different elements which does so. M: Crisp and light, not to mention refreshing. Mellow dryness and carbonation help it go down with incredible ease. O: Wow, this kicks ass. On the right kind of day (letís say perfectly sunny, 80F, sitting on a patio) Iíd have no trouble crushing multiple 750ml bottles of this left and right. Beautiful stuff, this one.

Still one of my favorite beers, period. As a fairly readily available beer out here in Japan I canít complain, this takes some beating

Bottle. Hazy brown with a medium sized light brown head. Lots of fruit; black cherries, black berries, raspberries. Light wet wood, plum, prunes, white wood. Medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation, medium sweet and light/medium sour. Both flavourful and drinkable. Medium and quite soft finish that is also a little bit too sweet for my taste.

330mL BB 29.10.15 Deep bronzed body, holds a dense beige head. Good complex, funky nose; balsamic & red wine vinegar, cocoa, green apple, roasted nuts, lots of charred & old musty wood, dried fruit undertones. Body is full, creamy carbonation, quite rich with a acetic acid bite cutting through providing balance & length. Such a joyful mix of flavours; dark chocolate malt, caramelised balsamic, cooked & fresh green apples, charred oak, plums, raisins & vinous dried fruits. Wonderful stuff - so complex, confronting at first with a sweet & sour balance but rewarding and delicious.

Bottle. Pour is dark with a medium foamy head, aroma is malty, fruity, sweet. Taste is light acidity with alcohol notes and fruity esters with lively carbonation and a light acidic finish. Very enjoyable

Een bier met een heel uitgesproken smaak, maar het was absoluut mijn ding niet.

Schiuma leggermente beige, fine e molto persistente.

Decent tartness, perfume, bit of cherry, marzipan. Sourness and flavour comes in a hit, but the finish is sweet and lingering.
