Oaky, sour cherry aroma, moderately musty with a touch of granny apple tartness. Flavor is tart up front, notes of raspberries and green apple, turning a touch sweet and malty. Glassy, slightly metallic finish underneath woody flavors. Robust, musty and funky - pretty darn tasty. Darkover (1317), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 21, 2005 Wow, this is sour, pungent-smelling, nearly like stinky feet with cherries. The flavor is interesting - tart, and fruity, but not overpowering. The flavor is much more pleasant than the aroma. Peppery, woody and juicy cherries, rasberries too. Very complex beer. henrikb (1306), Aarhus, Denmark
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 26, 2006 Bought 2001 – Best before 08.2005 – Beautifully red with a brown shine, huge bubbles in a beautiful head that leaves beautiful laces; The nose is super huge, super deep, complex and GREAT, full of oak, loads of acidity, very vinous, some dried plum and a very little dust; The body is super complex, deep, of course with loads of sourness and a little well fitting sweetness; The finish is great too, it builds up amazingly well and lasts very, very long, it has a great sourness with lots of oak and vinous character. It ends of like a great young vintage port, huge and fresh, with sweet plum and black cherry. This is a fantastic beer. It has definitely won with ageing. UHHHH!!! I am so lucky, I still have a few of this gem in my secret-stash. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
