Bottle, huge thanks goes out to MORHI for this bad boy! Aroma is wonderful, aged sour beer but funky and musty and yea justy fuckin awsome, red wine vinigar, grainy notes, alc no where to be seen, hints of green apple skin but amazingly balanced and never overpowering. Taste is tart fruits, never ovrpowering, sharp but balanced, grainy however no alc showing, slips down soo easily, my god possibly the easiest 10% ale thats ever been made. This is a master piece, this is something new for all the world too see, rodenbach and turned it upside down and said"hey we’re not just a macro that slips out a bit of grand cru for the beer geeks" they’ve shown us they are jenious and well deserved as a monumental high 5.

Bottle that Duff bought in Waagstuk, Antwerp. Now I know that I will be going against the grain here and I do promise to lay down a bottle I have bought and will re-rate in a few years time, but at the moment, I just don’t get the hype about this beer. Clear orange amber colour with no head. Lambicky sour aroma. Bit of plastic. Actually no it’s petrol. OK in mouth, but the finish is too acidic for me. Granary bread soaked in red wine vinegar springs to mind in terms of flavours.

Bottle. Very low and quickly disappearing head. Clear cobber body. Vinegar grapefruity aroma and flavor with a sour and spicy edge. Low carbonation. Long bitter aftertaste.

Bottle at Plan B - shared with Mette. Clear golden (a bit like applejuice) - no head. Grains, high grainy, sweetness, light winegummi, nice souness, vinous, corn, light light rubber, citric, brett, bikeglue, light vinegar. Complex.

37,5cl bottle. Pours clear copper (into my rodenbach glass) with no head at all. Quite disappointing looks - but the aroma is overwhelmingly interesting. Very sweet, strong, complex/concentrated, vinous , woody & fruity - Wauw! Flavor has a sour & warm twist with an unmistakebly barrel/cask domination. Sticky & oily palate. Soft & low carbonation. So very complex & great! This is artwork!

3rd Annual Woodshop Tasting, 3/1/08. Thanks Chris! What an intrigue of a brew! Very chardonnay like with a poweful white grape influence, pear, wood notes in the background, and lightly sweet malts. Damn delicious and would love to re-visit.

Tasted at 2008 Woodshop hosted by cquiroga. Malty, a hint of sour. Very little carbonation. Sweet. Light amber color. Very Rodenbachy with a great combination of sweet and sour. Delicious.

Bottle at Oude Arsenaal, Antwerp, Belgium, 02-03-08 Pours very clear but looks quite aged as indeed it is, the look and aroma make me think of an old much loved leather sofa, no head to this beer, there is also some sherry vinegar wafting through. Taste is surprisingly soft sourness, with woodiness and tartness showing along with some vanilla. The sherry vinegar on the nose also makes a guest appearance in the mouth but it’s fleeting and interesting. Absolutely amazed that this was 10%, I really liked this but once again with Rodenbach think I need to revisit it to truly appreciate what they have created here.

RB BE # 500: From bottle@Alvinne PreZBF2008 open house (crazy Alvinne Special sampler with Struise Pannepot Grand Reserva, Westvleteren 12, Vin de Cereal and Alvinne Oak Podge). Pours clear cobber and with no head. Dry woody and wineous brett nose. Sweet caramel and intense estery woody sour flavour. Distinct barrel notes to the woody flavour. Solid bite in the finish. Light woody lingering and wineous. Light spiced too.
