Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

2012 bottle thanks to Mike. Pours reddish brown with no head. Smells like rubber tires after a burn out, dark brown sugar, Luxardo cherries. Macerated cherries, medium sourness. Almost kind of a syrupy mouthfeel.

Wraz z ogrzewaniem nuty drewniane coraz bardziej intensywne w aromacie i w smaku. Niepowtarzalne, unikatowe. Rozkosz konesera. Beczka 170.

Lots of bottles and vintages throughout the years. Balsalmico cherry bomb with notes of apple and honey as well. Aftertaste slightly burns through the nose. Just spectacular stuff. Gets more complex and less sweet with age.

375ml cork and cage bottle at home in Richmond, as ’Rodenbach 2011 Vintage Barrel No 95’, 7%. Thin pink pour to form a very dark ruby beer, clear and still when held to light with a pale white-pink head. Aroma is rhubarb, blackberries and jam tart, light sherry. Body is smooth and rounded with soft carbonation. Taste is rounded and full with tart berries, light acidity, oak, just a touch acetic, sour cherry, some Ribena in the finish. Deep concentrated fruits without a corresponding sweetness. This pushes my buttons a lot more than I thought it would. Really tasty stuff.

Pours a medium caramel brown with a thin off white head. Nice tart fruity aroma. Tart and slightly sour cherry taste with some oak flavor. Smooth and somewhat less tart than the Grand Cru. Enjoyable.

As batch 149. Bottle 12cl sample. The aroma has red fruits (raspberry and cherry) , hint of pear, leather. Dark red coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is light sourish with red fruit, red wine and some woody touch. Light-medium bodied beer, above average carbonation. Very tastefull.

MBR Sour Beer fest. Ooh, I didn’t get to get a lot of this. Murky dark reddish body. A nice, clean, classic blend of berry notes, solid malt backbone and well integrated acetic notes. Very good and I’ll hopefully rerate it soon to elaborate.

Bottle. 2012 vintage barrel 170. Hazy brown pour with tan head. Some particles. Aroma is sour with sweet vinegar. Taste is surprisingly fresh and balanced. Nice sparkling feel to it. Some wooden notes. Do not like the aroma but besides this the beer is really great. Not that familiar with the type so this might explain my missing ability to fully appreciate this. Light body. Medium carbonation
