COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

Vintage 2009. Hazy brown orange with good acidity, top is not persistent. Smells of cherries and Turkish fruit. Taste is much more sour but very well balanced, probably because of the ageing. Granny Smith, red fruits, citrus. Long finish with acidity and sweetness, but not sticky like most fruit beers. Excellent

Bottle bought in Brugge. Browny red colour, slightly cloudy with a short lasting head. Very sour nose vinegar and nail varnish remover - very much like pear drops. Very fizzy on the palate, lovely flavours of sour cherries with a wheaty finish. A top beer.

Bottle from Bruges shared with Pix. A slightly murky ruby colour with a short lived cream head. Aroma of sour cherries and balsamic vinegar. Intensely sour at first with notes of wood, cherries, caramel and pear drops. Zingy on the palate, complex and very good.

28/03/2014 Bir&Fud Bottega (750ml bottle). Vintage 2011.

Really excellent sour. Nose of vinegar oak and apples tickles the palate. Beautiful brown red body. Nice sourness that gives way to apple like sweetness. Delicious! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I really had trouble discerning the difference between this Vintage ale and the regular Grand Cru, without trying them side by side. I think the Vintage comes across as slightly sharper and more complex-- perhaps slightly more oaky. An excellent sour ale, but at $20 a bottle I can’t justify drinking it except very seldomly.

One of the best things I have ever drank. Bought the 2007 and drank it in August 2013. Complex, woody, fruity, smooth and just awesome. It was shared with friends and enjoyed by all.

Chestnut brown in colour with a fine, fast fading toast coloured head, no CO2 and clear. Aromas of balsamico vinegar, white wine, wet woodbark, wet autumn leaves and a notch of leather develop on the nose. White grapes dominate the sourness with a harmonic sweetness bathing the palate. Slender, elegant with medium body offering a long lasting pleasant sour finish.
