COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

My New Year 2013 beer a 2010 Vintage...Pours a clear reddish brown color with a quickly dissipating head. Smell is Cherry, vinegar, wood. Taste is a touch of the acidic vinegar up front then the cherry and fruit hit followed by the dry wood at the back end. Medium body with nice active refreshing carbonation. I have a soft spot for Rodenbach and this beer certainly does not let me down. It will be served with brunch in the morning as well!

Big bottle, vintage 2010. Aroma fresh of sour cherries, acetone and dark sweetness. Tastes a bit of sour apples, fairly sour. Long nice aftertaste, bitterness like apple peels. Very nice.

Pours a nice, deep burgundy with flat tan head. Aroma is rich with cherries, spices, port wine. Taste is lightly cherry sour with a dry, somewhat abrupt sour finish. Medium to high carbonation, light to medium body. Nice one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: pours clear dark amber, bubbly off white head that recedes to a reasonable ring. Nose is distinct Flemish sour. Astringent oaky Flemish notes, vinegar sourness, wild yeast. More of the same on the palate with rich carbonation and bittering sour notes. This is outstanding for the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 2010 Vintage. Pours a deep ruby brown color with a smallish tan head that slowly dissipates to a cap. Smells of tart cherries, brown sugar, a bit of lactic, and a hint of balsamic. The flavor is bright with tart fruits, lemons and cherries come to mind. Sweet brown sugar and light simple syrup provide a nice balance to the tartness in this brew. The lactic and bubbly carbonation pierce the tongue upon every sip. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a tart bubbly mouthfeel. This is a really nice Flanders style beer, I quite enjoyed it. I find it remarkable in its balance of sweet and sour.

2009 Vintage Oak Aged Barrel #145. Caged and corked 750ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a lasing white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark fruits (perhaps red wine grapes/raisins and/or cherries) with hints of oak. Taste is a cherry tartness with some sweetness from other fruits (maybe raisins) and a lemon citrus bitterness that finishes dry. Medium bodied with generous carbonation leaving a very tickly sensation on the tongue. A nicely done sour ale that is highly recommended.
