Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

This poured a ruby red color with a beige head. Aroma was of light cheese, some vinegar, strawberries and cherry jolly ranchers. Flavor was lightly tart, medium funk with some cheese notes, but mainly controled by vinegar and candy fruitiness. Decent.

Bottle, 2009. Pours brown with a red glow and an off white head. Aroma of red fruit, cherries, some oak and malt. Taste is sweet with some red fruit, oak and some malt. Tart finish but this one is not as sour as the Grand Cru. Was expecting a bit more from this one.

Pours slightly hazy reddeish brown under an average off-white head. Tart vinous fruit aroma. The flavor is slightly sour, not nearly as much as I expected. Plenty of underlying sweetness.

2009: A hazed reddish amber sour ale with a thicj dark mocha head. In aroma, a smooth sweet cherry with caramel, acetic acid, pungent and complex. In mouth, a nice sweet oud bruin with loads of cherries, sour, caramel, a bit aqueous, but good. Tasted at GRMs tasting.

Great beer with the real typical Rodenbach taste. This typical Flanders red style beer has been kept in order to mature in oak barrel ( foeders ). The special acidity is balanced out by using a blend method where young and old beer is composed and blended to a great Result. This beer is perfectly in balance and has a sweet, bitter, and acidity composition that is typical for this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone By Belleketels

Vintage 2010, 750ml bottle. Champagne like smell, slight tart taste. Nice foame on pour, but fades quite fast.

750 mil bottle shared at GRM’s. 2009 vintage. Hazy Ruby amber with a thin tan rim. Delicious tart cherries, quite peppery/spicy, nice funk, some caramel, vanilla, woodsy, lovely. Medium body, moderate effervescence, smooth. Tons of spicy, tart cherries, nice funk, beautiful; dry with good tartness and limited bitterness and a long, spicy, alcohol sting, cherry finish.
