COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

Aroma is rather strong and stale with oaky notes and sour cherries. Feels like a gym with air conditioning broken. Flavour is somewhat refreshing with oaky notes, sour cherries. The sweetness almost ruins the show.

Courtesy of ratebeef! Clear amber pour and a small white head. Nose of red wine, oak, light vinegar and hint of fruity malt. Tart grape and oak with some definite sweetness to it. Damn tasty.

pours foggy brown with a low thick head nice aromas of sour tones, oak (of course), grapefruits, belgian yeast ans hints of sweet fruits. excellent palate with a fine sour tone, fills you mouth very well, nice long ending. really good sour ale!

2009 Vintage. Pours amber with a firm 2 finger tan head. Cherry, musty cellar, and vinegar sourness in the aroma. Pleasingly tart, very drinkable sour lactic with a nice creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. I need to get another few bottles and hold it longer I think it might get even better.

Bottle @ hotel room, Ithaca. 2008 vintage. Cloudy, brownish red appearance with a small tan head. Rich cherry, dark berry, somewhat oaky, tart, somewhat acidic, vinegar aroma. Pretty tart, vinegar, big cherry, red fruity, somewhat oaky, quite fruity flavor with a dry finish. Pretty delicious.

750 ml bottle bought @ Etre Gourmet. 2007 vintage. Pours reddish brown with a small off-white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sour and slightly sweet with wood, burnt sugar, plums, gooseberries, dark grapes, raisins, vinegar and hints of horse blanket. Taste is sour and slightly sweet with burnt sugar, cherries, plums, red grapes, wild strawberries, vinegar, wood and berries. Mouthfeel is tart and full-bodied. Finish is tart and dry with vinegar, burnt sugar and fruit. Extremely drinkable, balanced and good!

75 cl bottle, pours dark brown with very little carbonation, aroma of malt, cherry, acetone, vinegar and wood, taste follows the nose,fairly tart, very reminiscent of the Granc Cru, very good overall.

Sampled at the First Inaugural Raleigh Rare and Vintage Beer Festival. Claimed as the only keg of 2008 vintage in the US. Murky amber pour with good khaki head. Good tartness on the aroma. And the flavor has a lingering cherry sweettarts quality. Slightly acidic. Very pleasant easy drinking sour, that wasnt fake.

2007 bottle from Utobeer. It pours murky brown, with a quickly dissipating beige head. The nose is malt vinegar, soft stewed fruits - strawberry, plum, cherry and wood. The taste is tangy cherry, strawberry, raspberry, wood and some malt vinegar, with a tangy finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very drinkable and well balanced, not nearly as much malt vinegar as the Grand Cru.
