COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

2009 vintage. Fantastic aroma on this. It has that classic sour cherry feel on the palate, but also has what seemed to be like a sweet olive characteristic. Surprisingly bright and fizzy.

2013-06-28. Hazy red brown body with a small off white head. Aroma has a sour cherry like quality to it, lactic sourness, very light accent of leafy vegetation like character. Flavour is pleasantly sour, lactic, sweetish fruity middle, lingering mild lactic sourness throughout. Smooth average plus bodied palate, carbonation. Fairly subtle, pretty nice.

2009 vintage. Murky dark amber, with a fine edge lacing. Sweet/sour aroma, hint of oak, sweat, tart dark fruits, sweet malt, vinegar. Taste is initially too sweet for my liking, but then the tartness, along with a slight toffee-apple sweetness, really breaks through and semi cleanses the palate, leading to a nice puckering bitter sweet flavour; comes across like a well made scrumpy! Good carbonation tickles the tongue on all sides. Long, bittersweet, drying finish leaves you wanting a little more.

2007 bottle at a bottle share. Aroma is typical Rodenbach with oak, cherry and iron coming through. Pours pink with brown film. Tast is way too tart to the point of vinegar. The oak notes are there but the cherry and caramel get lost. I was not a fan.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2014 Balsamvinäger. Krämig och härlig. Läskande. Bra syra. Påminner mycket om Grand cru. Tanniner och viss strävhet. ------& 2011 barrel 95.

Superbe.

Bottle at unibaren, 15 / 6 2013. Vintage 2007. I had no idea what to expect. Dark brown red, white ring. Aroma, malty sweet, sour, red friuts. Taste, I was really surprised, malty wine up front, and then sour, and I like it. Best sour I’ve had.

2008 Vintage. Pours a dirty brownish red with a small quickly disappearing white head. Aroma is vinegar, farmy and wet blanket. Taste is tart, wet blanket, somewhat floral and an overall oak dryness and wood. Fantastic.

2009 Vintage. Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a hazy red-tan color with a small foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet, tart and tangy cherries, raspberry, vinegar and soy sauce. The flavor was very tart, tangy and bitter with a strong sour cherry, raspberry and vinegar presence. Long tart and sour cherry and berry finish. Medium body. Nice.
