Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

Shared 2012 750 ml. bottle, poured to snifters showing a cloudy, mildly ruby highlighted, walnut color, with a modest layer of light tan head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was prune juice, dark cherry, tartness, light oaky tannins, and caramel sweetness. Medium bodied, with lively carbonation, and a touch of alcohol presence, the sweet/tart and effervescent spritz balanced very well into the finish.

Bottle, vintage 2013. Red mahogany body with a head that instantly dissipates. Nose is sour, with notes of oak, strawberry, green apple, alcohol and candy bananas. Taste is sour, tangy, vinegary and salty. Refreshing palate, which leads to a dry finish.

2013, lucky barrel 149. A red flandern where the edge of the throat burn is taken off which I believe is a good idea. It’s a lot of similarities to the original grand cru as in dark sweet and sticky on acid but it’s smoother. Vineager, grapes and that sour in a luxurious package from their lucky barrel no 149. Gotta like it. -- Instagram Beer.Nerd.Malmo

750ml bottle corked and caged. Dark ruby pour, slightly pink head Aroma is huge on also in vinegar, ripe berries, sour cherries and some earthy, woody oak. Low carb, full mouth feel. Finish is very very tart, and acidic. Slight lactic note, very woody, hints of vanilla, with a boat load of vinegar and berries. Some age would be interesting.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2016 2013 vintage. 0,75 bottle. Ruby red colour. Medium white head ehich disappears quite quickly. Oakiness, cherries, rasperries, cranberries, vinegar in the aroma. Sour cherries at first. Tannines, raspberries in the middle. Sweetness of the other berries in the end. Rather light bodied, very well balanced, refreshing, medium carbonated, absolutely drinkable beer. 2011 vintage. 0,375 bottle. Ruby brown colour. White medium head.  Vinegar, berries, a hints of cognac even. Cranberries and saltiness at first. Sour cherries, redberries in the middle. Acidic finish. A bit of oakiness and berries in the aftertaste. Will raise the overall impression by on point. Convinced.

Tolle farbe! Toller geschmack! Hat sehr gut zu selbstgemachtem tunfischaufstrich mit getoastetem baguette geschmeckt! Getrunken wurde es aus teku gläsern!

Light hazy, dark orange/red colour with medium and quite stable head. Strong aroma of acidic, cherry note, similar to wine note, slightly wood and vanilla on backgorund. Taste is light sweet, light bitter and medium sour/acidic. Finish is medium long and quite acidic and cherry. Medium to full body. Soft to medium carbonation. Very good, complex stuff. Its tastes like mix of good sour beer and wine.

Vintage 2013. Donker roodbruin bier met dunne witte schuimkraag. Geur: framboos, kers, zurig – zoetig. Smaak: zoetig – zurig, kersen. Heel mooi in balans. Het bier vloeit ook mooi zurig uit. Dit bier staat als een huis.
