Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

Smell is an odd toffee and malt sort of note; not bad, but unexpected. Taste is lots of oak, brett, funk, mild sour, and malt. Lively carbonation with mild foam.

Complex aromas with oak notes and some acidity. Flavor with a touch of caramel, red fruit. Some body for a sour... low sugar. Beautiful complexity and very good drinkability.

2015/03/08 - Pours a translucent reddish, brown colour with a foamy, off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is oak, honey, tart cherries and vinegar. Taste is tart cherries, vinegar, oak, caramel and honey. Vinous tones. Mouthfeel is medium with light carbonation and a tart, drying finish. Sweetness and tartness is delicious and refreshing. Very enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 mL bottle. 2012 Vintage. Pours mahogany with a cap of russet-tinged foam that subsides rapidly. Port like on the nose with big tart cherry and red currant, lots of oak barrel character, oxidation and balsamic-ish acetic acids. Bready malt, subtle chewy toffee and earthy brettanomyces. Deep malt sweetness versus intense acidity. Slightly creamy with subtle tannins from the oak. Light to moderate body with moderate to full levels of carbonation.

Vintage 2012 from LCBO. Warm reddish brown with whitish head that disappeared quickly leaving a rim of bubbles. Aromas of vinegar, malty apples, oak, absolutely great. Classic sour flavours of apples, caramel. Phenomenal.
