COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

Oh man, this was good. Nice mix of cherry, oak, and citrus on the nose. Flavor is pretty much the same. More fruit, like blueberry or blackberry as warms. Hints of balsamic vinegar, as well. 2009 Vintage. I will be getting more...

Pours a hazy dark amber colour with a white lasting head. Sour tart notes on the nose followed by black cherry, apple and earthiness. Taste is complex, tart cherry, caramel, some malt, ripe red fruit, slight vanilla note. I’m really pleased I got a bottle of this. Superb.

Bottled 750ml (vintage 2008, "barrel no 96")
Hazy red color, small off-white head. Earthy, tart, fruity aroma. Medium-bodied. Tart, fruity, balsamico, cherries, wood. Balanced, fruity and tasty. Not far from normal Rodenbach. Classic.

2008 Vintage, 750ML corked and caged poured into goblet. Appearance is brown with a fizzy, white head. Smell is of sour cherries, vinegar, oak. Taste is of slightly soured cherries and raspberries with a little funk. Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing with medium carbonation. I’m fairly new to Rodenbach but this is the best one I’ve had. It’s not overly tart and maintains a nice balance of sour with hints of fruit and oak. There’s about 5 more bottles at the store I bought it from and I will be returning there soon to buy a couple more.

750ml bottle in a snifter. Pours cloudy amber/brown with a lacy, light beige head. Aroma of oak, sourness, brown sugar, some spiciness, a little bit of fruit, and some floral hops. Flavor of this beer is incredible. A smooth, but bubbly texture. One of the best beers I’ve had in this category.

2009 bottle from Fermentation Market ($18). Murky brown pour with a big fluffy light tan head. Aroma is pleasant mix of wood, oak, caramel, cherry, green apple and acidic. Tastes are lightly tart cherry, acidic, green apple, berries, vinegar, brown sugar and oak. Finishes dry with a spike of tartness. Good.

2008 Vintage. Love the oak in this beer...complements the deep sour flavors very well. Great mouthfeel, deep layers of fruit and oak make it tasty all the way from nose to lingering finish.

Red brown colour. Complex aroma with some nice oaky tones. Also some fruit. Flavour is very sour but the deep flavours of oak and fruit do balance it out a little.

Flaske: Rødbrun øl med et stort skumhoved. Duften er primært balsamico, der igen dominere i smagen. Virkelig en dejlig øl men lige lidt under cuvee de ranke. Begge dejlige og yderst drikbare.
