Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours reddish amber in color with a dense tan head. Vinegar notes in aroma, sour fruits too and some wooden oak barrels notes in aroma as well. A bit of vanilla spicyness is there too and some light funky/earthy notes steps forward after a while. Sour and fruity in taste, some sweeter notes as well are present. A bit of vinegar and tart apple notes in taste. Sour and tart for sure, but in not in a overwhelming way. A bit of tart sherry oak vinous vibes towards finish.

75cl bottle, vintage 2010. Dark redish brown with a white, thin but lasting head. Vinegar, sour aroma with some barnyardy notes and dark fruits. Flavor is surprisingly sweet with strawberries, wood and mild tartness later on. Finish is dry and quite sour with more wood coming through. Didn’t really loke the sweetness, but overall an enjoyable beer. Almost full bodied.

Slutfest! 2010 bottling, and for me, probably the highlight of the whole thing. Medium amber. Light cherry and wood aroma, very inviting. Flavor is a match. And totally awesome. Not doing a good job on descriptors here, but this was just a beautiful brew. Lovely.

Sample at Bier Events tasting at Veluwse Heidebrouwerij
Vintage 2010. Hazy cola coloured with beige fading head. Aroma and taste are sour, wood, dust, basement. Rather sweet, just a bit too sweet if you ask me. Medium body and carbo.
