Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

A taste of HEAVEN…Pours an orange-brown colored body with a spare frothy ivory head. Aroma is made up of dark berries, citrus, lime, and alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium in body and high in warmth with a biting finish. Flavor of grass, spice, cherry, subtle oak, and sour red apples. Just perfect!!!

Bottle from 2007. Aroma is very winey with oak and vanilla, brett notes, slightly lacto, vinegar, slight oxidation, berries, sweetness. Taste is very nicely balanced vinegary tartness, balsamico sweetness, oak, vanilla, insane balance like all Rodenbach.

Super Bier! 9/12/13/12/12/13

Bottle Vintage 2008. Reddish brown colour. Sweet and sour, but very balanced. Lactic, oaky and fruity notes. Not too much carbonation. Higly drinkable.

Bottle at mesandsim’s tasting. Murky ruby brown with a small hint of red, brown, pink head. Sours aren’t my thing but this is more me. The vinegar notes of the original are mellower and it seemed more complex to me. Sweetness off setting against the sourness. The oak againg really compliments it. And it reminded me of a perfectly carbonated ribena ale. If there was ever such a thing, this would be close. Damn tasty.

2008 vintage, on draught. Very similar to the venerable Grand Cru. Subtle fruit and oxidative notes are the biggest differences, along with particular subtle nuances which distinguish each vintage. Not better or worse than Grand Cru, just different. Quite interesting and satisfying.

2008 Vintage on tap into a Rodenbach Grand Cru glass at Kulminator...A dark ruby brown pour, some clearness, more red then the regular. A light tan head of two fingers, great retention but only ok lacing...The aroma is slightly tart with vinegar, wish it was a bit stronger. Not as sweet or rubust as the regular, more oak...The taste is more acidic but not in a vinegary way. A lot more of the wood comes out, this is tart. This is a little bland, I’m no so impressed. This is not an improvement, a lot of the vinegar is gone and replaced with oak. Don’t mess with the best one going unless its going to be awesome.

On tap at Beer Temple. Vintage 2009 I believe. Slightly hazy reddish brown colour, off white head. Aroma is sour, grapes, red fruits, cherry and some raspberries, light malty. Flavour is medium sweet, red fruits, grapes, red wine, fruity sourness, tart finish. Light to medium bodied. Refreshing and highly drinkable.
