COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

2009 Bottle, opened at christmas 2012, Red clear, typical Rodenbach colour, minimal white head. Lots of sparkling. Aroma is sour: cherries, green apple, vinegar, oak, leather. Taste is really nice. The sourness is predominantly present. Cherries and apples can be discriminated. Finish is tart and long. Lively carbonation. Great beer, refreshing, A sad side of this large bottle is the huge amount of sourness in my stomach, that is not always appreciated. But hey, it’s worth every drop!

Bottle, 2008. Amber with a tiny off white head. Fruity and acid tones. Fruit, malt and sourness. Medium to full body with a nice bitter / acid finish.

Mørk rødbrun farge med lys beige luftig skum. Lukter kirsebær, syrlig eple, trevirke, eddik og noe gjær. Smaker også syrlig eple. Bitter god avslutning.

Lactic acid and cranberry nose. Nice head. Acidic punch up front followed by surprising residual malt sweetness and red/brown character. Grape juice or wine in the finish. Improves in the glass. Some brett funk but very drinkable. Solid. The sweetness and head are surprising though; I’m guessing they pasteurize and add back some clean beer?

Vintage 2008. Perfektion är det första och ordet jag tänker på. Rodenbach levererar prima vara. Balansen mellan sötma och syra i total harmoni får lyriken att svämma över. Tack. Återigen - TACK!

Bottle sample at a sour tasting at our place. Thanks Vova, 2011 vintage. Headless clear brown. Sweet kiddush wine with raisins, sour and vinous and a little sweet taste. Medium carbonation, medium body, tame sweet wine finish.

2012 vintage. Hazy reddish brown. Thick head, very persistent. Complex aromas that develop as the beer lingers in the glass: first, cranberries and raspberries; then, toffee and leather; finally, cookies and milk chocolate. Let it rest, don’t drink too fast. Less dry than usual for a Red Flemmish. Sheer sourness, yet not harsh. Long-lasting, with no bitterness whatsoever. Deserves the highest rank.

Yey! Close to beergasm! First impression - its al labout fruitiness, dried fruits, ripe fruits, overripe fruits, berries, it all leads to one tart fruity impression that is boosted by oaky character, decent maltiness all the way in background, caramel, even some light roasted hint with some choco expression. Complex and very well balanced, yet awesomly sippable and enjoyable.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika , October release 2014. Amber color, good foam. High aroma intensity; autumn leaves, great yeast influence, red fruits, stable influence, good fruitiness- some barrel influence. Medium body & high complexity. Good sourness, light bitterness- very enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
