Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

750ml bottle split with my awesome wife. Served in a Duvel trulip A - Pours reddish browm with a small off-white head, speckled lacing down the side of the glass. A collar forms around an island of thin foam. S - Sour lactic fruits, tart plumbs, cherries, sour apples, orchard fruit, bruised strawberry fruit, lemons, old dank wood, sweet/tart candy aroma, day old dried up wine like in the bottom of glass the next morning. T - Sour fruit smacks the taste buds, granny smith apples, vinous green grapes, lemons, sweet tart candy, unripened strawberries, pixie candy, woody, old sour wine, the lactic sourness clings to the tongue, in the background is old shoe leather, basement wood, creamy and sweet aged malt, brown sugar and vinegar mix in to the sourness creating a sublime sweet a sour character. Finishes lactic and dry with dried fruit on the aftertaste. M - Light feel with effervescent carbonation, tart and tongue wickingly dry. This exceeded my expectations. This is the cream of the crop for the style. It has precise lacto sourness backed by an old and deep malt background, sublime yeast character creating a beautifully melded Flanders. This should be opened on special occasions. A rare treat. Serving type: bottle 04-13-2013

2013, lucky barrel 149. A red flandern where the edge of the throat burn is taken off which I believe is a good idea. It’s a lot of similarities to the original grand cru as in dark sweet and sticky on acid but it’s smoother. Vineager, grapes and that sour in a luxurious package from their lucky barrel no 149. Gotta like it. -- Instagram Beer.Nerd.Malmo

750ml bottle corked and caged. Dark ruby pour, slightly pink head Aroma is huge on also in vinegar, ripe berries, sour cherries and some earthy, woody oak. Low carb, full mouth feel. Finish is very very tart, and acidic. Slight lactic note, very woody, hints of vanilla, with a boat load of vinegar and berries. Some age would be interesting.

Ruby red colour. Medium white head ehich disappears quite quickly. Oakiness, cherries, rasperries, cranberries, vinegar in the aroma. Sour cherries at first. Tannines, raspberries in the middle. Sweetness of the other berries in the end. Rather light bodied, very well balanced, refreshing, medium carbonated, absolutely drinkable beer.

Tolle farbe! Toller geschmack! Hat sehr gut zu selbstgemachtem tunfischaufstrich mit getoastetem baguette geschmeckt! Getrunken wurde es aus teku gläsern!

Light hazy, dark orange/red colour with medium and quite stable head. Strong aroma of acidic, cherry note, similar to wine note, slightly wood and vanilla on backgorund. Taste is light sweet, light bitter and medium sour/acidic. Finish is medium long and quite acidic and cherry. Medium to full body. Soft to medium carbonation. Very good, complex stuff. Its tastes like mix of good sour beer and wine.

Vintage 2013. Donker roodbruin bier met dunne witte schuimkraag. Geur: framboos, kers, zurig – zoetig. Smaak: zoetig – zurig, kersen. Heel mooi in balans. Het bier vloeit ook mooi zurig uit. Dit bier staat als een huis.
