COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.

Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, hops.

2009 vintage. Regular beer drinkers at my session hated the stuff but I still loves me a fine Belgian sour ale. The aroma is a nice mix of vinegar and malt, the appearance a nice deep brown. The flavour is a sour mix with beer, a gueuze-like concoction that works just right in the friday night fog. Rodenbach canít do wrong in my books and this is a fine sour ale. But it is not what it isnít: if that makes sense.

2010 bottle. Pours a ruby-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of dark fruit, oak and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of black cherry, oak, chocolate malt and caramel. The finish is fruity and oaky with a tart cherry aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Vintage 2010. Nice brown-ruby color with small head that goes away quickly. First immediate impression: sweeter than the Grand Cru. Lots of fruits, cherries, similar in character to the Grand Cru. Amazing sweet-sour winelike taste, complex finish with some caramel and honey in there, smooth consistency in the mouth. A more or less logical continuation on the Grand Cru. Very near-perfect, canít think of any improvements... I absolutely love it! I have another bottle in my cellar for more aging, canít wait to try that one in a few years.

Bottle with the boys at Porch Nite. Vintage was 2010. Wow. This stuff is amazing. Pours an amber brown with minimal head. Aroma is tart cherry, toffee, malt. Flavor is a complex blend of cherries and maltiness with some sourness, but not so much that you pucker. Just really smooth and clean. Finishes very dry. Wonderful beer.
