Hazy brown. Thin head. Sour nose, citrus. Crisp, acidic and mouthwatering. The acidity is balanced nicely with some soft, sweet fruit. Good beer to pair with food.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is a rich fruity aroma with some cherry hints possibly from the wine barrells? Most notes dissipate fairly quickly. Taste of a sour wine character. Hard to detect any maltiness. Clear amber head with a well retained head.

Some time back we had a number of visitors staying with us. For fun, they took turns going out and picking up varieties of beer. I kept notes about what we thought about each, but can not find them anywhere. I did find a bag of empties from that time period, so thought I would at least record those w/o commet and ratings from memory. This is one of those. (When I do find the notes it will be interesting to see how close I came)

Pours clear, deep red-brown, with small, short head. Very carbonated, medium to dry body. Aroma of vinegar, apples, cherries, wine; very refreshing. Taste is fruity and sour, really refreshing. Good beer, but i like my sour beers more intensive in taste and aroma.

Ruby to brownish colour. Minimal, tanned head that dissipates rapidly to a ring. Red wine, cherries, barnyard, yeast and a hint of vanilla in aroma with noticeable malty, somewhat caramel aftertaste. Moderately sour, tart. Average carbonation, very low bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma - there is an undeniable basement aroma about this brew and a vinous nature as well
Appearance - body color is garnet; liquid is clean and clear; the head is about 1/8" and beige ~ it rings out somewhat quickly
Taste - sour with a slight sweetness . There is also a wine-like vinous nature
Palate - body is light; texture thin; carbonation is lively; the finis is vinous and it coats the tongue in itís sour qualities.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear burgundy pour with a tan head and good retention. Aroma of fruits(plums & black currants), light vanilla oakiness, spicy phenols and sourness. Taste is plums, black cherry, dates, oak and some spicy sourness on the fnish that compliments the other flavors very well. Overall itís complex and sour red wine like beer thatís easy to drink.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer is a great red sour with a minimal head and brown foam. It is lightly sour, especially when compared to its other Rodenbach cousins. I would recommend this beer for its cleansing palate and its complex, if slightly abrupt, taste.
