good but not nearly as good as the grand cru lacks the complex flavor and sourness of the grand cru i say "grand cru or go home!"

2004 bottle; best by 11\28\07 on the bottom of the bottle. Vinous aroma with red grape, sour apple and tart cherry- also some musty leather and oak. Appearance is brown cola with quickly disappearing tan head. Flavor started out with musty and sour flavors, and finished with refreshing tart cherry. Palate was slightly bubbly with a thin mouthfeel. Almost reminded me of a faro\sour ale mix with age.

FROTHINGSLOSH (3205) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 30, 2010
Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with red highlight and a trace beige head that left no lacing. The aroma was sour, tart and nutty with notes of port wine and oregano. The flavor was tart, tangy and dryish with notes of cherry, nut, caramel, wochestershire sauce and oregano. The finish was long, dryish, tart and woody. Medium body. Solid.

750 ml bottle. Pours hazy brown with a tanned head, nice lacing. Aroma is of sour dough, dark fruit and some woody notes. Full, smooth, creamy body. Pleasant sweet-sour taste is of yeast, fruit and wine like woody notes. Long, sweet-sour finish. Wonderful beer.

Poured from bottle, pours a hazy brown with a thin head, aroma is similiar to the the grand cru but the flavor is no match in my books. Still a strong sour, has nice fruit notes with some wood in the finish. decent.

Tap: Poured Deep Dark Red with little head. Nose is balsamic, sour cherry, raspberry and grape. body is light to medium. first flavor in mind is grape poprocks. Sweet and sour, balsamic and more dark fruit notes. surprisingly quick finish. Nice.

750 ml bottlw pours a very dark, murky reddish-brown ale with a very minimal white head that disappears quickly. Aroma of sour apple, wheat and oak. A pleasent sour taste accompanied by notes of green apple that causes the mouth to pucker. Nicely carbonated. Palate is left with a lingering sour tast that is not too overpowering. A little on the weaker side as far as ABV of 5.2 but still generally a good Belgium beer.
